THE GRIMLEAL
So! Grima is returned, turns out God isn't quite dead after all. This revelation has no doubt led many of tenuous faith or sheer atheist disbelief back into the fold of the faithful (Can it truly be called faith if you KNOW your god exists? Not important, really.) and YOU could be one of them! Outside of the obvious benefits of being spared by the Fell Dragon when he conquers the world, there are several positions of power that can be held within the organization, any of which would make keeping Royal Plegia from killing all of us so much easier. THE HIGH PRIESTESS - Ariel: That's me, by the way. I'm the one making sure we survive long enough for Grima to exact revenge on all the non-believers. It's an extremely trying position and not one you want to try stealing. No, seriously. You don't want it. There are days that I don't want it, but it'd be irresponsible of me to just leave. The sacrifices I make for the greater good... THE HIEROPHANT - Viscera: Whereas I actually am in charge of operations and logistical stuff, The Hierophant is the Leader of the Clergy and oversees all our Masses and prayers to Grima. Not being tone-deaf helps. Combat in this role should be minimal, so if you want to be really far from any risk of death this is a good spot. THE CHARIOT - ibarra: For the past while, most of the combat against the Plegian Royal Guard has been in Grimleal-aligned territory. It's fairly neutral now, but when we start pushing outward, the Chariot will be the head of ensuring that our troops are where they need to be, when they need to be, and everyone has enough of what they need. I also might ask for a piggyback ride every now and again if it's not too awkward...THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE - Inessa: It pays to know what your enemies are trying to do, especially when they won't tell you what they're plotting. The job of this position is to be a listener, a background object, just taking in what is being said about us. Oh, and letting me know about it, sorry if that wasn't clear. THE JUSTICE - skeyti: Yeah, things aren't going so well for us PR-wise. We're working on that. But some people get it in their heads that we're soulless monsters that need to be destroyed at any cost. It's bad enough when the Plegian Royals get that idea, even worse when those close to us start thinking it. When it happens, we need you to...deal with it. THE HANGED MAN - OPEN: Now with 100% less nooses! In all honesty, the position of the Hanged Man is to better the position of the Grimleal to ensure our political capital and bargaining power with our neighbors remains able to broker deals as we need them. Someone who knows their way around nobles without wanting to stab them with a fork is recommended. THE TEMPERANCE - OPEN: Nobody is perfect, not even me. The job of the Temperance is to oversee the congregation and make sure no one is planning a coup from the inside. (remember that you're anti-espionage, not anti-free will -- I don't need you tattling on every little person who says something bad about me, they're probably true.) You also have the task of double-checking my plans to make sure I don't run this place into the ground - to my credit, it's been almost two years and no major crises so far. Regardless, you'll need to be strong-spoken to be effective in this role. THE MOON - Firynmara: Most of you remember the Risen, undead warriors that heralded Grima's ascension the last time He rose to power. We have the means to control them, but how to actually summon them appears lost to the ages. For now your role is trying to figure out how they did it. Once that's done, you'll be pretty much commanding your own zombie apocalypse - how awesome is that? There are other roles I can create, we've got the rest of the deck available. These are just some of the Major roles you can have. Hail Grima

i'm really not sure if ariel would trust inessa enough to want to have her in any position of power, but inessa's a grimleal and willing to do whatever short of telling her family the truth. maybe something could work!! who knows

ibarra The Chariot is yours to govern. Just make sure not to scratch the paint job, insurance is a killer. Inessa The Wheel of Fortune is yours - it's the perfect cover for a known noble to listen in on everyone and report back to me when no one's watching. To any others, note that being Plegian is NOT a pre-requisite for being part of the Grimleal ranks. All you need is belief in our Fell Dragon God returning to finish what he started about 23 or so years ago. | TAGS |

Okay hi! /Teikoku This guy isn't approved, but I would love to be your double-agent-spy-false-prophet-cult-thing. I don't even know if that makes sense, but here's my little idea. (and a good arcana for this would The Tower) Zerachiel looks, breathes and walks like a good guy. He'll a priest in Ylisse, oft traveling to Feroxi to spread word of the good Naga, and taking people under his wing. He often targets problem cases, such as too aggressive or violent, etc. Those that have the most potential get into the 'Inner Circle' of what he leads. And then from there... well they're told the truth and bound to secrecy, and zealots and yeah. Basically think Voldemort+Manson and you've got the basics of what he's doing sorta. Or what I want him to do, because Kotomine Kirei thank you. But lemme know if this works. Otherwise there's Firynmara that's trying to convert people atm but you can easily bring her back and give her a job if you wanted and then there's Nyx too. She was raised by a Grimleal guy, but taken in by a noble house and I just want to see a plot with a tug a war between the royal house and the grimleal on her loyalties. Doesn't even have to be huge, like two friends or something. (heck use her as a royal spy and they use her as a grimleal spy and dear god you just gave a child backstabbing and double dealing capabilities this would be interesting) don't mind me, I'm a mite crackish atm but yeah /shot and goes to finish this guy

Firynmara: The Moon is your new calling, the more you can get working on raising Risen, the better. We've got plenty of corpses to play with, mind you. skeyti: The Justice is your role, exacting it on those fool enough to think themselves higher than our God and his Laws. Don't get too crazy with those claws of yours though - your role is the scalpel needed for precision, not the serrated blade for sweeping death. | TAGS |

I'm playing around with the idea of potentially having Trinity be successfully convinced to work with the group of people she was supposed to be working with, but of course she would do it specifically for some form of pay rather than the actual cause of the Grimleal contingent.
If belief in Grima is compulsory, let the mere fact Trinity has close-to-major Fell blood inside her be a big flag that she might be worth pursuing, or convincing, by force. Her family, after all, would greatly appreciate her supposed return to Grimleal.
However, Trinity is no longer in Plegia. So yeah.. That could be an issue, or it could not be.

Trinity Loyalty to the Coin is Loyalty nonetheless. Should Ariel's path cross with yours, it's entirely reasonable she'd offer to hire her. She obviously won't be privy to the same level of insider information as some of the others (Ariel's trusting she sticks around, but won't be too surprised if she gets a better offer) however as the Ace of Pentacles she'll have plenty of leeway to do things without necessarily being irrevocably bound to the Grimleal. | TAGS |

I have an idea for a thread with the gimleal of an individual marked as grima's property is found by the grimleal. and how that would play out. it is just basic right now and I thought of improving it over chat but they diverted me here.

And the Grimleal has a new member in the form of victorie. She's new, and even more so, far from utterly sound in conviction and faith. But an Ylissean noble is never something to simple disregard.

victorie I don't have a card in the deck picked out for you yet, but rest assured you're going to be doing some good here. Gilly There's only 22 positions of power (21 if you don't count me, but I still take up a card) so it's fine to just be a grunt. Just don't do stuff I say you can't and we'll be fine. Viscera The role of Hierophant is yours as you see fit. Do keep in mind that not everyone can be swayed to our side, and Grima will need infidels to smite or snack on. A 25% conversion rate is more than acceptable. | TAGS |
