DAO SEVENTEEN + MALE + MYRMIDON + FEROXI
ABOUT | Hate is what he knows, and it's what he's comfortable with. Living a life of revenge and failure, Dao has absolutely nothing going for him but the way of the sword. He might be intelligent, he might be adaptive, but he gives little to no fucks whatsoever to anything else that doesn't include killing his Teacher: the man responsible for the murder of his parents.
He's actually a rather decent person behind all the hating, and Dao has a thing for fluffy animals. Rabbits and foxes are his favourites and he's actually a decent cook along with anything that relates to house keeping. Underneath all the dirt, grime, and dried blood is, well, more dirt grime and blood. But it certainly is prettier to look at when all the dirtier stuff is gone.
| FRIENDS | What are friends? Dao has no recollection of such a thing--the closest thing he has to this is the guy who cooks the food for everyone in the bandit camp or when they're on the road. If he even had to pick a friend, it'd be the sword he keeps with him 24/7.
He has zero social skills and he could really care that much less about them. He's the definition of a point and click person: point somewhere and he attacks it. Sometimes mistaken to be mute, Dao does have the ability to talk…just not really deep words or anything of the sort.
He does have a really sharp gut feeling however, and his instincts have been honed from a decade of over using it. He'll feel that you're being a douche bag, even if your words are as sweet as honey. He just won't be able to explain it.
In that sense, getting through his dense skull is not impossible. Proving that you can stand up in a fight, and just as far as beating him, is enough to let him take note of you. It's not much, but it's a start. Having his back enough times, fighting beside him and keeping up, or even one upping him, is usually the way to make him not think of how bad you are.
And more of "I don't need you, but it's easier when you're around." | ENEMIES | Everything and everyone that he sees on the battle field, or is treated as an objective, falls here immediately. Though he really only does that because it's his job to kill things. It's his job to hurt things.
There is nothing personal included when it comes to hurting others. He just has to do it if he wants his own selfish wishes to be granted. So he will never hold back, but it doesn't mean that he hates you for who you are.
No, he just hates the bastard that calls himself his father. Everything else is just business. | LOVERS | HUZZAH FINALLY ADDED THIS PART AFTER FOREVER
8AHEM*
Dao is as unromantic as they come. He's the densest person one could ever ask for and for all his skills with the sword, he doubt he'd be able to tell that it was a confession even if it was spelled out for him. Oh he knows very well that he likes girls, being a teenager and living with a bunch of debauchery-praising bandits could at least cement that much.
That said, the Feroxi male has negative experience in such a field because 'zero' isn't low enough. He can probably like someone, and what he knows of love is as limited as his vocabulary is, so he'll just most likely blurt out whatever comes to mind. He has no tact and what reservation he does have is almost negligible.
If you do want to go through this path, you might literally have to hold his hand every step of the way if you want to even get anywhere beyond "you're okay, I guess."
I also don't think I have to reiterate the fact that this might as well be Lunatic+.
| OTHERS | He's really open for everything. The brat's growing still and has his whole life ahead of him. Throw anything and everything you might think would be great or just fun in general and we can go from there. |

Dao Yo Akki it's good to see you here! I see you have here someone from Regna Ferox which I do not, but Ascher's unique in the sense that he's essentially a hobo that was given the boot out of Plegia by his sister (t...echnically it's self-imposed exile, but details). Quick rundown, Ascher was the first in line to the Plegian throne, and he'd be king right now if his 2nd sister hadn't gotten spooked that he might be Grimleal so she staged a coup to take the throne herself. In general though, he's pretty chill and laid back, the kind of person who didn't like the freedoms that'd disappear once he became king. I... actually think they might get along okay? Ascher's pretty laid back and is also a fairly skilled swordsman. He'd think Dao was cute I think with his brusque attitude. Could also just be Ascher's big brother personality coming out. He's got a sister around Dao's age. ... I DON'T ACTUALLY HAVE ANYTHING OF SUBSTANCE but here you are A+ for effort for me

//gives a Gold Star for A+
But yeah. xD Thing is, even if Dao was born in Regna Ferox he's not quite living there. I'm confident enough to say that Dao and Ascher are both hobos, except that Dao goes around majority of Ylisse, and even to a bit of Plegia, because he's got also got a self-imposed leash around his neck. Gotta kill his surrogate father who just so happens to be the leader of a rather well maintained group of bandits and mercenaries after all.
In regards to how they could potentially meet up, well, the bandit brigade might hit up on some Plegia/Ylisse borders to sow some chaos. Assuming that Ascher still has a notion of both love and duty for his homeland, he'd at least want to defend it. Another would be, I dunno, Dao nicking a bag of coins from the guy or some random bystander and we have a chase scene on our hands.

Dao Posting just to let you know I have an interest in having Trinity encounter Dao at some point. Their notions on things are pretty distant, given that Dao has a target of his wrath. Trinity meanwhile doesn't really give a rat's ass about her family anymore, given that she was basically disowned by them. It would be interesting for Trinity to observe that killing intent being aimed at another person. In other words, Trinity is interested in Dao and wants to... How do I say it, observe him? I don't know. Hard to really say right now.

In regards to Dao, the kid has two kinds of killing intent. One reserved for his life goal, and the second one is for everything else. Given that you're probably referring to the former, to see that would be…debatably difficult or easy depending on the circumstances. He doesn't bother hiding it, not really, even when he's in the company of everyone else.
It isn't hard for anyone with half a brain and one eye open to see the sheer loathing---but yeah, to see that kind you'd most likely need to make a direct dealing with the leader. Money makes the world go round and Dao might as well be a glorified lapdog. Otherwise, she can just be some kind of off-hand spectator who wants to hire one of the mercenaries for a job or two---they do those kinds of deals as well.
Just hit me up again though if you can figure out the right words (?) for what it is you wanna do. o7

Eric/Dao
Rivals to the bitter end or potential friends? Either works well with Eric's character seeing as Dao might be as cautious about friendship as Eric is. 'Till we get that sorted out, what you said in the c-box I think could lead to some good stuff. In the paralogue Dao is currently fighting for the bandits-- but after their previous thread I wouldn't be surprised if Eric could persuade him to fight against the bandits with him. Dao's betrayal could lead to the leader admitting to violently murdering his family and the irony of Dao being his subordinate for so long. This could potentially lead to Dao telling Eric they weren't Plegian and were hired to dress as such for the raid. This, in turn would start off Eric's own mission to get to the bottom of this! Brilliant, brilliant I tell you, genius I say! name that movie reference if you can!

Friends and Rivals sounds like a thing yo, definitely a thing that can happen. There really isn't much to add on to that idea since we're currently having them fight it out in the paralogue so I suppose the interactions there would be the defining factor on whether Eric is charismatic enough to somewhat recruit Dao. For all we know, Sonya and Nero could do the job too---or it ends up not happening and Dao's still stuck as a bandit. xD
That said, there's a little misunderstanding concerning Dao's position in the bandit brigade. He knew, right from the very start, that the bandit leader had been the one to kill his parents. He vowed revenge and somehow, someway, he thought that the best way to do that was to not escape from the bandit brigade and kill the head honcho in a duel. It's (spoiler) and (spoiler). Still, the opportunity is there and if Dao get's shaken enough he might just throw a decade's worth of hate all in one go to duke it out with the old man.
Since we all know that the Boss is gonna die in the paralogue regardless of what happens, we can also set up a thread that can take place shortly after the paralogue where Eric finds Dao lost in what's supposed to be an open field. Cue the Support Link? Y/N

Seems like Eric and Dao are gonna be seeing more of each other anyway if they're gonna be rivals. I'd be up for the field thread whatever the outcome of the paralogue, tbh. Hmm... wouldn't be too bad if Dao actually talked in that thread xD

He's bound to start talking eventually. xD Whether it's caused by hate, neglect, or just downright infuriation he'll mostly talk. He's a seventeen year old orphan turned bandit, not mute. xD Gotta let that hate go somewhere, or at least give him the satisfaction of actually doing what he set out to do all those years ago.

Good Cop, Scary Cop - Oliver'd be really happy to finally meet someone his own age! Although he and Dao are pretty much as different as night and day, Oliver would definitely try to reach out and befriend his peer. He's certainly impressed by how good of a swordsman Dao is at this young age, after all. The two could make for a unique but interesting friendship, and I bet it'd be hilarious seeing them tackling paralogues together. Their styles of mission solving are just so amazingly different.
I think he'd sympathize a ton with Dao's loss, too. His parents mean the world to him, and if anything bad ever happened to them he wouldn't know what he'd do. And don't tell anyone, but once he's developed a good enough deal I've got somebody very close to him marked for doom~. Whether through simply being somebody to talk to or through aiding Dao on his quest, Oliver would definitely try and be there for Dao.

Reading over your application, and certainly there's this idea in me that would be quite the entrance to the kind of reluctant "why the hell are we friends" kind of relationship I can see this going for. Let's take Oliver. Mr. Goody Two Shoes. The Hero Wannabe. Old Bess for Best Steed. And sees the world as a place where he can virtually trust anyone and everyone he supposedly meets.
Dao, on the other hand, doesn't want to be a hero. And where Oliver sees the world in black and white, Dao just sees it and Black and Grey. There is no justice worth fighting for but his own, and anyone that stands on the way of it would be killed. To see someone as young as him, someone so depraved from the fantastical emotion of heroism and 'goodness', I'd like to think that Dao would be the kind of guy that Oliver would loathe.
The kind of person that he couldn't forgive, absolutely no matter what, even if he found out about all the reasons.
At the start anyway. Since both of our characters are relatively new, there are still so much room in regards to how we can develop them---and seeing as how you've been plotting with others as well, I'm expecting down the road for Oliver to get shaped up to really understand what it means to be a hero. In that sense, down the road, the two could maybe somewhat understand each other more and though reluctantly, the unos could maybe turn into somewhat of a duo.

Oi. Little bandit man. Come meet my animal lover. He has lots of fuzzy animals like rabbits and stray dogs and horses and all sorts of other creatures to bond over. And Layle's ex-Valmese military, though he'd never admit to it. He doesn't like fighting. He just wants to have his animals and stay in the stables.
Somehow I'll make a man out of youuuuuuuu

yessss all da fuzzy animalsss. We just gotta set up a thread or something yo. Dao's one true weakness has got to be the rabbits. So fluffy and cute and adorable little tuffs of hhhhnnnnngrg. Might be reluctant friends cause I doubt Layle would let naughty children play with the animals.

Yesssss. You can come meet the fuzzy rabbits. And the fuzzy horses. And maybe his one pegasus that is too injured to fly. I think Layle's gonna have three rabbits, maybe four. And Layle would probs let him play with the animals, just be like :l don't be a bandit stealing from people who have nothing is just as bad as having nothing. Since guess who grew up with a brother who was a thief~
