LIAM [attr="class","django"] [attr="class","lefty"]F R I E N D S Liam may be one of the most sleep-deprived, grumpiest fucks you'll ever meet, but the guy's got a heart of... well, not gold, but some other valuable metal. Like copper. Liam's gruff demeanor denies the fact that he's the one going around to make sure everyone's drinking enough water and having a laugh, and if you call him out for it he'll deny it and try to shove you away with his staff. Becoming friends with Liam is easy enough; just sit down and share a pint with the dude, and talk the evening away. [attr="class","righty"]F O E S This is kind of hard to do on the higher scale. While you can perpetually annoy Liam, constantly degrade him, piss him off, etc etc - its really hard for him to form a longstanding hatred of any kind. He's just too nice at his core. If you want to try to stay on his bad side, though, all you have to do is be all about the lifestyle of hurting people he's trying to save and keep alive. To lesser degress, if you mess with any of the royals and nobles under his charge as a Captain of the Guard, or if you mess with Ylisse in general, you might have a problem with Liam. [attr="class","lefty"]L O V E S Liam, in love? Nah, can't be... if you do somehow manage to woo this titan of a healer, you'll find that Liam's incredibly devoted and doting. Imagine his dedication to his job, just to a single person instead. Not sure how you could get to that point with him - he's a tad too busy for a social life and so you would have to hound him for it, or otherwise be around him enough to get to it. [attr="class","righty"]E T C Liam doesn't care what country you hail from or your religious beliefs. He cares about keeping you healthy and keeping Ylisse as fixed up as possible. COUGHS WE SHOULD THREAD mostly i should get off of my booty so liam can be all grumpy at matthiasLiam would treat Matthias like some child he accidentally adopted, like, "Matthias plz stop touching that no stop let me heal you MATT PLEASE STOP FIGHTING THE BANDITS PLZ" It would be great, Liam would be grumpier, and Matt can have a healer he can drag around on adventures™

I'm sure you realize by now that a thread involving Liam and Valeria needs to happen, right? As we've already established, she'll probably end up pushing pretty much all of her paperwork on him, due to the fact that she can't read, since he'd be the only other person qualified to do it. That said, she'd feel kinda awful about it, since she essentially feels like she's being lazy and not doing her job, despite the fact that she, at the moment, doesn't really have a choice.
That said, Valeria kinda sucks at socializing and conveying her feelings (at least, when she isn't drunk...and she never drinks on the job), so that part might not be immediately obvious. As I've noticed in a previous thread and (recently) on her plotter, she is making an effort to learn how to read, but her job keeps her pretty busy, so it's not often that she has the time to sit down with someone who can teach her.
Either way, I can picture Valeria making a clumsy and awkward attempt to apologize for all the crap she keeps dumping on him...which how that ends up going will mostly depend on Liam, but either way, I figure it could be fun play out.
Hell, if nothing else, they can go out drinking together.

Valeria Trying to teach her how to read in their spare time could be a fun little thing to try out one day, if only because it will be nonstop frustration from the both of them. And even if he never says it out loud, Liam doesnt mind doing all the paperwork - he just worries that Val is gunna run herself ragged doing all the actual physical work of the guard.

Hmmm... Rima and Liam should meet methinks. Maybe have her start annoying him for caring about whether peeps have enough water and stuff? IDK. She used to do a lot of the inventory work for the West Khan, so yeah. She could maybe even help him with that? *tossing ideas out, not sure which one works best with him but knowing that Rima and Liam should plot yes*

Rima Liam actually making friends with someone that could help him with his duties would be nice for him and probably help him be less of a rude grump. Its especially prominent with Liam since he would come across as this really rude kind of guy, but that's just his constant sleep-deprivation and general world weariness at play as he goes about trying to keep people healthy and fit and not being dumb with the practice swords. Kinda had a random image of him + his horse trying to cart back supplies from town by themselves and Rima annoying them along the way

It's a good thing then that she usually is too silly to notice the fact that people are being rude grumps to her lmao. She's a silly little thing but if she knew that someone needed help and it was something she could fix, which she has skills at inventory, she'd probably help him out.
And yep that's pretty much it. Her sitting on the cart prattling on and annoying him as they go back to town.

Rima Would a thread set in Ylisse suffice, or would it need to be closer to the Ylisse/Feroxi border? I can set up the sad escapades of Liam somewhere in that area for whatever kind of madness he may be inflicted to by such a lass.

Considering that Rima's already left Ferox, anywhere in Ylisse is fine. She can be exploring without her fluffy taguel husband or it can be before she meets him and she's traveling with a small band of merchants for protection. Point is I shall tango with whatever you're willing to toss at me. c:

If she's traveling with merchants, I can reasonably have Liam be getting these supplies and then their paths cross along the road and for one reason or another, its easier for her to accompany him. He begrudgingly takes on a travel partner and instantly enjoys hates it. If that sounds good, I can for-sure set up an opener.

Yeah I mentioned in the start of her thread with Balthy that she was traveling with merchants for a while. And then she got dropped off in town and wandered off. But hmmm... maybe the merchants were moving in a more roundabout direction and Liam is going more directly so she travels with him to the nearest village hoping to hop on with another group? It would explain the lack of Balthazar at any rate
But yeah that sounds good, just forgive me if I don't get a reply up super duper fast, I'm still trying to catch up from being eaten by midterms.
