BIO
For Suna's mother Ushiro, leaving Plegia wasn't a good option. Hell, it wasn't really even an option that she wanted to take. To leave the country in its supposed final hour - not even weeks before Grima rose again - was treason at its very best, a dire insult to all in the faith at worst. That being said, she had a few very pressing reasons to want to leave, all the same. A dark mage, and a self-purported magical genius, she covered her tracks as best she could - though, she actually didn't need to. Indeed, she picked the correct time to leave - she was hardly missed, with all that happened shortly afterwards.
The only issue was finding a place to settle down. Ylisse was the first, obvious option. They seemed relatively open to refugees. But Ushiro had her pride, and she had a rather skewed opinion of Ylisse - one colored by the first holy war that Ylisse waged into Plegia. So, that was off the table, and crossing the ocean seemed far too risky. That just left Ferox, and Ushiro high-tailed it there as soon as she could.
She had been in Ferox for a few weeks when she ran into her future husband - Dayrne. You could say it was love at first sight - or, more accurately, you could say it was 'Ushiro screeches at a taguel while he brushes it off and laughs like a hyena'. For all that the man confused and infuriated her, Ushiro figured that it was best that she settled down somewhere - and... well... he was also attractive, and a warren was the last place you'd expect to find a plegian, right? Right.
Ushiro and Dayrne grew closer, bonding over his strange findings, and the rest was really history. They had three children together - Arie, Cael, and Suna. Ushiro made a supportive, caring mother - having a family had been a long dream of hers, one that she could finally fulfill, now that she was away from Plegia. Dayrne made a slightly less supportive, slightly more unintentionally-terrifying father, but nonetheless all in all the children grew up in a life of relative ease and comfort, coddled by their parents and the surrounding taguel.
Being the youngest, Suna was both spoiled and a bit tormented by her older siblings, especially considering she's so easy to startle or otherwise alarm her that it's hard to resist doing so. Her early life was defined mostly by her closest family, watching her father's experiments and her mother's magics - when she wasn't tearing about the house. It was only natural that Suna took her interest in magic from her mother, and her pressing curiosity and knack for experimentation from her father. Add that with the stories of the 'legendary weapons', inspired her to try to mix magic and the current technology - to revive the ancient magic used to enchant those weapons.
It was a far more difficult endeavor than she could have imagined, though. More often she simply lit something on fire, or tore it apart with wind, rather than made it warm, or float by itself. However, Suna was not the type to be deterred by failure. After all, failure was just a stepping stone to success, right?
However, after long enough of simply failing, Suna came onto the realization that she was actually limited by her surroundings - the warren was no place to find people who knew many things about magic, and while her mother helped out as much as she could, there were limits to Ushiro's knowledge as well. The only smart option was to leave.
It took some convincing. Ushiro worried about her youngest daughter's safety. Arie thought that it was a crazy idea. But Suna managed to win over her father first, and he tackled the massive wet blanket that was Ushiro. After lots of packing, several promises to write, and lots of goodbye-hugs, Suna set off to learn as much about the outside world (and forms of magic) as she could.
It was different, not being a part of the warren. Suna struggled terribly with missing her family, and with the realization that taguel were actually quite rare. The stories of Grima that she grew up on were completely different than the common perception, even Ylisseans didn't seem as bad as her mother would mention. The world seemed to be struggling, and there were all sorts of incongruities that left her uncomfortable, if not outright scared. But she continued - she wouldn't really be able to look at herself the same if she left without learning all that she wanted to.
One day, when she was looking over tomes in an armory, she picked up whispers of a second coming of Grima, and of a young lord that wished to stop that from happening. With little better to do (and the promise of meeting more mages along the way), she set out to find that lord, hoping that he wouldn't mind her questions too terribly.
OTHER
Suna fights best as a taguel - though she knows how to read tomes, she has the most experience with magic to enchant things, and this only shallow knowledge - she studies mixing magic and the latest weaponry and technology, but most of her efforts have been near to completely unsuccessful. (Attempting to rediscover old forms of magic is sort of like that.) She does not know much past the very basics of dark magic, and would need to be taught if she ever reclassed into a dark mage. She does have quite a bit of potential with dark magic, but as is her grasp on magic is totally and completely average. She likes reading tomes, but doesn't keep them - the most notable tome she has is an old, worn Wrath tome from her mother.
Suna is very sensitive about her ears, and is all too aware that ears that stick straight up are pretty weird for a taguel. She often fidgets and pulls down on her ears when she is nervous. Generally, one of her ears is somewhat flopped over. Depending on her emotions, though, they could both droop or both stand up. She has thick thighs and is in fairly good shape - she runs often. She dislikes loud, sudden noises and being touched. All the same, she gets lonely rather easily and misses her family greatly. She is rather ill-prepared for war, all of her well-meaning intentions aside. She has tentative, relaxed grimleal beliefs. She's also somewhat more nervous around Ylisseans, and more willing to trust Plegians.
Her beast form is chocolate brown and darker brown, like her normal form. Beyond that, it's a rather standard taguel beast form. She actually likes it a lot, because her beast form's ears don't stick straight up. She will occasionally tackle her close friends in beast form.
Her mother's family are often terribly power hungry, and Dayrne's family often suffers from hypomanic episodes.
