Trinity's smile, her blush, and her longing gaze told Sonya all she needed to know. Her words were sincere. She desperately wanted this. She wanted to be loved. And Sonya wanted to give that to her. And finally her response, 'show me your magic' sealed it. The other woman put a hand over Sonya's heart, and Sonya slid a hand down to place it on Trinity's. "As you wish," she said. She pulled Trinity in for one more kiss, then started to draw away. She took a glance outside, through a window overlooking the lake, and noted that the sun had started to creep down onto the horizon while they sat in each others' arms.
"How about I treat you to a candlelight dinner?" Sonya asked. "I've got some fish traps set up down at the lake, so I should be able to find and whip up something good. I guess it's not much for a date, but I still want to treat you well."

Trinity shuddered in anticipation as Sonya slid a hand to place it on her own, and once again the blonde was drawn in for another kiss. But then she pulled away slowly to take a glance outside. As they sat in each other's arms and company, Sonya suggested to have a candlelight dinner, and she said that something with the fish traps could be good. Trinity could only nod. "It's alright... Nobody's ever done anything like this for me before, so... I'm very glad if you could... I mean..." Trinity was flustered, a little unaware of how to handle or respond to this, but still, she definitely showed signs of approval, as she gave Sonya a playful nuzzle. "Please, please do..." Trinity simply said, her gaze almost now like a child in love, she turned out to look athe sky herself through the window.
The sun was beginning to set. "...Before it gets dark, anyways, hehe... Though the sunset looks beautiful."

"That it does," Sonya said. She nodded, finally pulling away as Trinity gave her approval to the idea. She stood up, quickly moving back to the door. "This may take awhile," she said. "Feel free to make yourself comfortable, look around, whatever you like." With that, she made her way outside and headed down to the lake.
Several minutes later, she returned with a few fish in a net, looking only a little winded and sweaty. She gave Trinity a smile, then immediately got to work preparing them. She worked quickly, demonstrating a proficiency with the tools and utensils that suggested that she had done this many times before. Then, she lit up the range and set the fish to cook, careful not to use too much heat. She set some vegetables to cook as well. Once they were set and cooking, Sonya sat next to Trinity again. "Mm, it's been awhile since I've been able to cook for someone," she said.

Trinity smiled and nodded, watching Sonya leave the cabin and presumably head down to the lake, to fetch some fish and possibly other things depending on what was available. On Sonya's recommendation to 'make herself comfortable,' Trinity simply decided just to remain stationary, kicking her legs forward and stretching out casually - exposing her legging-covered legs, and looking quite relaxed, looking out towards the window. It was only a few minutes later that Sonya had returned with some fish in a net, and fortunately she didn't look very winded from it all. Smiling, the other woman began to immediately start cooking them, lighting up a range after deftly preparing the ingredients.
A healthy serving of vegetables appeared to be present as well. Once Sonya had set them to cook she sat next to Trinity again, which made the younger lady smile; she must have been confident in her skills if she could just leave them cooking on the range unattended. "You must be very good at cooking. I am a bit envious..." Trinity giggled, relaxing next to Sonya again, leaning her head on Sonya's shoulder. "It must be good to be proficient in many things aside from your line of work." she heaved.

Sonya smiled again as Trinity leaned her head on her shoulder. "I've had to fend for myself for a very long time," Sonya said. "I had to learn, and I've had to do it a lot. Eventually I got good at it. After all, I didn't want to have to steal or scavenge for food all the time like I did when I was younger." She giggled. "But it's just like learning to fight or kill, anyway. If it doesn't kill you first, you learn what does and doesn't work, and once you do it enough you get really good at it."
Could she go into town and eat good meals at a fancy tavern every night? At this point, probably. But she'd come this far, and took pride in everything she'd learned. Besides, at the time when she'd had to develop that skill, she definitely couldn't have done that instead.

Trinity listened intently, nodding. "That makes sense. Just that I was never able to settle down into one spot. I was a criminal, after all. It wasn't just humans I had to kill. 'Twas animals too. Had you seen me out in the wilds, you would have figured me for a barbarian in fancy clothing!" Trinity giggled, lazily relaxing in Sonya's arms. "Mmm... Come to think of it, killing's all I'm really good at. It's kind of depressing when you think about it - I've kind of treated it as an art more than work, really..." Trinity continued, suddenly looking distantly out into space. Though she wasn't actually spacing out, just... looking uncharacteristically engaged about something.
Being exposed to Sonya seemed to have some profound effect in the girl's thinking. Maybe it might have been a good idea to branch out - trying to focus one's passions and attentions on other things instead of making a fabulous killing out of someone. After all, those people had families too.
Even if Trinity had no one to call family anymore, being cast aside, she had been treated as a renegade, a vagrant. Yet, this Sonya... managed to treat her as a human being. Someone who wasn't just a mindless killing machine. Someone who didn't just care about the bloodshed - someone who, deep beneath that crazy exterior, had feelings too. It was strange. Trinity had wondered about it. But... for now, she wanted to cherish the time she had with Sonya.

"That must have been a sight to see," Sonya said, giggling. "I used to be a bit like that. At least, before the art part. I don't think I ever really cared about quality. Quantity? Sometimes. It was only a few years ago that I was even able to settle down. That's when I really started trying to better myself, and got away from 'as long as it won't kill me'."
She gazed out the window, her eyes slid out of focus as though they were staring out into space as well. Or, at least, at something very, very far away. "I guess...I was given a second chance, if you can call it that," she said, her voice softer and fainter. "I've tried to make the most of it, at least. Not just for myself, but for the people I've come to care about as well." She turned and planted a kiss on Trinity's cheek, then returned to her normal tone. "Anyway, I'm sure there's more you're good at. You just have to find it."

Trinity smiled and nodded. "I see. That's interesting. I was unable to settle down like you, and I grew increasingly bored of what I was being paid to do, from doing it so much. I guess I got desensitized to it..." Trinity sighed, and soon she heard about how Sonya was supposedly given a second chance. "A second chance... You want a shot at redemption? That is admirable... I feel like my heart is probably rotten beyond the core. I am considered as crazy, turning my work into a spectacle, and for years I've been without family, or... Anyone, really." Trinity continued, before she soon felt Sonya's lips on her cheek.
"...Thank you. You are... a peculiar person. But... You are certainly wonderful, beautiful... Just so many words I could say here to describe you. I just want to be with you for as long as possible..." Trinity said, shuddering and clinging more tightly to Sonya now.
She idly looked to the side and wondered now how the cooking was going, after all, Sonya was not there to attend to it. Probably it would be ready by now. A candlelit dinner was something Trinity had never experienced before, but perhaps it would be something memorable especially with someone like Sonya.

"Maybe not redemption. No matter what I've done or will do, I'm still a killer. But a second chance to be more than just a killer, at least. That would be 'redemption' enough for me." She held Trinity tight for a moment, smiling at her words ending with wanting to be with her for as long as she could. "I do too," she said. "For as long as I can."
Seeing Trinity look away, Sonya glanced back towards her cooking and pulled away from Trinity. "One moment," she said, standing up again and walking over to the range. She checked up on the fish and vegetables, stirring and turning them as necessary, then went to work setting up the table. She set out a few dishes and utensils, ones definitely more at home in a noble's mansion than a lakeside cabin, as well as several candles to complete the setting for their date. Once she'd finished lighting all of them, she returned to the cooking, and a short time later, everything was ready. "Looks like it's done," Sonya said, moving everything to a couple dishes and carrying it over to the table. "Come on, let's eat."

Trinity felt Sonya hold her tightly, and it seemed the latter did smile, and said she felt the same way. Eventually the lady was tipped off Trinity's glance and stood up to check the range. As she quickly stirred and turned them up for a while, she began to set the table. Trinity watched patiently, studying those movements, noticing how proficient she looked. The utensils and dishes looked conspicuously regal, but given as Sonya explained this was a nobleman's hunting trip retreat, Trinity was hardly surprised. Candles were lit and set out as well, as the sun outside set and the darkness fell over the sky and land as if it were a curtain. The illuminating light of the candles helped to set the mood as Sonya said it was done.
"Of course," Trinity said, moving over to the table and taking a seat when Sonya offered the time to eat. "This looks really good. I am very impressed." Trinity said, smiling as she looked at the dish. It looked to be a simple dish of fish with vegetables, but for Trinity, she rarely ever complained about food set on her table. With her lifestyle, even something like this could be seen as something worthy of a banquet.
"You look even more beautiful under the warm candlelight illuminating your face in the darkness. You take my breath away."

Sonya put on the finishing touches, pouring a couple glasses of wine from the barrels along the wall and setting them out, then took another glance toward the window. Ahh, perfect. The sun had finally set as she was finishing up, so once she was done and Trinity had come over, they were left in darkness with only the candles left to provide light. The mood was perfect. Sonya settled into a chair opposite Trinity, giggling at her compliment. "I could say the same for you," she said. "You really are something else." She loved candlelight. The way it cast a completely different light on people than sunlight was just so beautiful, and the dancing flames had an almost entrancing effect. She took a bite of the fish she'd prepared and smiled. Ahh, it had come out perfect. To her, at least. She looked over at Trinity, eager to see what she thought.

The way Sonya's face was lit up warmly by the candlelight was something that felt almost unreal to the lady, the soft light cast on her face seemed to add an extra charm that was completely absent when Trinity first encountered Sonya earlier during the day. She noticed that wine was prepared as well to go with the dinner; truly, Sonya knew her way to a lady's heart, at least that's what it seemed to Trinity. Soon, as Sonya began to eat, Trinity did the same, attempting to sample what was cooked. The taste was unusually fresh, something she had not experienced in a long time. Indeed, Trinity could only offer compliments to this cooking. "This is actually really delicious," Trinity said softly, starting to eat a little faster (she had gotten very hungry by now) but still trying to restrain herself and maintain some level of civility when she ate. It seemed that the vestiges of her wildlife huntings lingered in her mind, of course, when one was more focused on killing the mark than actually keeping one well-kept, certain bad habits still remained albeit in the form of an inkling. Trinity occasionally stuffed vegetables into her mouth - these were just as good, a very nicely done compliment for the fish. "For such a seemingly simple dish you sure do manage to make it taste like it had come from something more royal" Trinity said sincerely, though the way she chuckled may have suggested otherwise. Regardless, she was smiling and seemed to approve highly of the cooking.
"You're amazing, I must say." Trinity simply said, unable to think of anything better to say at the moment, she was simply already captured in the other lady's seeming 'trap'. Though at this point the crimson witch had completely forgotten about the possibility her neck could be slit open later. Sonya was just too lovely.

And there it was, all compliments for the dish. Sonya's expression brightened at the words. "Mm, thank you so much," Sonya said. "I'm glad it's to your liking, especially since I prepared it in such a hurry." She blushed faintly, watching with amusement at how fast Trinity was eating. It was something Sonya knew well, having once been so accustomed to being alone and not having to be presentable. In more recent years, she'd tried to change that as well, although a few old habits and inclinations remained. But it was clear that Trinity had gotten very hungry, and was definitely enjoying the meal. Despite a brief chuckle when Trinity mentioned it seeming more royal than what it was, Sonya could tell her sincerity from her actions.
Sonya took a few more bites as well, eating a bit slower but still clearly enjoying her own cooking. It seemed to have turned out even better than usual. Maybe because she was cooking for someone else as well?
After a moment of silence, Trinity went on to say that Sonya was amazing yet again. "Thanks," Sonya said. "I'm so happy that you're enjoying yourself."

Trinity smiled and blushed again (a rarity that would not be evident to the other lady due to how often Trinity had let her cheeks go red) as Sonya mentioned how she was really happy that Trinity was enjoying herself. Nodding and trying hard not to be too loud in eating, she smiled and had some of the wine. It was... An interesting taste, she was unfamiliar with this particular make, but regardless, it was a good fit with the meat. "I'm really speechless, with how wonderful this all is. It really feels like something out of a wonderful storybook, you know? Well, to me, anyway. I haven't really opened up to anybody else like this in... I guess perhaps forever." Trinity said, smiling. She figured that Sonya with how beautiful and amazing she was had quite a couple of partners in the past, but for some reason was alone now; it was strange, how could someone this wonderful be alone? Trinity tried not to let such thoughts get to her head, but with how imaginative she could get, she began to wonder briefly. Maybe they were lost to something, or maybe killed or... Trinity stopped her thoughts there for the meantime. At some point Trinity had finished eating everything before Sonya did, and it was very obvious. "I get lost in some wonderful dream or something, when I look into your eyes..." Trinity said, continuing to look at Sonya, albeit more shyly and less confidently as she did before when she first encountered her, as if she was trying to think about something, but could not. No doubt overcomplicating the situation again, wondering if this was really happening.
After all it seemed to good to be true. "This is really happening, right?" Trinity said, with now a genuinely pure smile on her face, something that hadn't happened in so long. So many years.

Sonya could scarcely believe how well this was going. Occasionally she had thought that maybe it was just naturally easy to get Trinity to let her guard down and open up. But her words confirmed that this may well have been the first time. That was...amazing. But in doing so, Sonya had opened herself up a bit as well. At this point, however, she was just as happy with how things were turning out. It felt almost like a wonderful dream as well. "It's funny...I haven't been able to talk so freely to someone in a long time either. Usually I'm all style and charm, but I don't give anything away. It's been years since I felt like I could open up to someone. So, I guess that makes two of us." She continued to work on her meal, keeping her eyes on Trinity and letting the other woman look into them as much as she wanted.
She did notice after awhile that Trinity had already finished eating before her, but she didn't mind. Sonya was just happy that Trinity found it so good that she managed to finish it so quickly. She still genuinely did want her to enjoy this night as much as possible. Whatever came of it. She wanted it to be perfect, like the 'wonderful dream' Trinity mentioned. And, speaking of which... "Unless I'm somehow dreaming as well, yes, this is really happening," Sonya said. Ahh, such a wonderful smile Trinity wore. Sonya couldn't help but give one of her own in return.
