[attr="class","info"]The one to lead this group into the kitchens was the maid, and unfortunately the kitchen was in a total mess. Dirty dishes and pots were strewn all over the counter tops, some were in the washbin already but most were abandoned. The staff had been cleaning up after the giant feast before the death of Wrys, and most had abandoned their posts to mourn. He had been a very beloved man and many were terrified for their future now that the Lord was dead. There were small windows in this room to aid ventilation, as well as several chimney pipes that supposedly lead to a disguised part of the house. On the west side of the room there was also a large dumbwaiter, one that fit enough space for a servant and a serving tray cart to fit comfortably. The dumbwaiter had a crank at the side that allowed an assistant to easily crank their colleague up a floor, the second floor, as the maid knew. Seeing as the second floor doors had been locked and this was their best chance to get to the second floor, someone would have to go up in the dumbwaiter, or four someones, and one would have to stay behind and crank it, then rejoin another group.
Other than the chaos of the kitchen, nothing seemed out of place for the kitchens- nothing except what Drake saw. Something stood out particularly to Drake's eye; if he were to go close to the dumbwaiter, he had the potential to notice that the dumbwaiter had both a path upwards and so it seemed, a long fall downwards. Now, why was that, exactly? And didn't one of the servants whisper about odd sounds in the basement as of late? And wasn't that a very very odd shape in the pattern of the wall beside the dumbwaiter? What if he were to touch that?
((Seriously. I did a dice roll- Drake got the highest that you could actually get. Drake, if you have ANY questions about the room, I have to tell you everything about it. The rest of you got below five. So you don't get that treatment.))

THE DUMBWAITER " Damn, who would hurt Lord Wrys?" This was something Drake was not really prepared for, he watched the horror and shock on peoples faces. It was struggle to keep the peace within the house; Drake saw it best to keep his cool not wanting to draw attention to himself as being one of the last guest in the house before the murder even took place. He was not planning to spill his own blood in this lords house or any time soon. The lady of the house with tears in her eyes asked that all the guest be moved to another room and wait into the killer was or is found, it was going to be a long night and the faster they found out who committed the crime the faster they could leave. The lady soon offered up pay to who ever would be willing to help catch who ever did it, this did not seem right for Drake to want the bullion for the capture of the killer. It would be nice for who ever did it to be brought to justice, Drake just had to change how he was approaching the problem and maybe turn this into quest that way he would not feel bad about wanting the bullion. He than decided to take on the task of finding the killer; a maid than approached his group. He was lead along with his group to the basement kitchen. The kitchen was ran down and unappealing to Drake, he hated the dust and broken glass on the floor. It looked as if it could have been the death scene and the body was just moved up stairs. Drake knew better than to let his imagination mix with reality; he than noticed the dumbwaiter. He had never seen one so it was pretty interesting, he started to think of the weight of the dumbwaiter and the amount of strength it would take one person to left it especially one this big. That can fit a whole person and table cart, to get to another wing of the house means someone would need help. If they are not strong enough to crank the crank, Drake also started to notice the height of that the dumbwaiter could go. It was as if a floor was missing that the Dumbwaiter was passing over, Drake just found way to many things wrong with this scene and decided it was best he stay and investigate while the rest of them go up to the second floor. " Do you find anything off with the Dumbwaiter?, it seems that it has a distance to travel before it reaches the second floor, I also think it's best if you guys go up to the next floor while I stay here." Drake really did not know if one of the maids in the house had the strength so someone was not acting alone on this, he also wanted to investigate the reason it had such a far drop. Does this house have something below the basement and one of the only ways to get down there is maybe through the dumbwaiter. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS & THQ

Soon the lady of the house along with the two sons had finally said their pieces. By this time Trinity had sufficiently roused the crowd and calmed herself, stepping down from the chair and looking significantly more serious than she did only mere moments ago, listening to the whispers that permeated the room. Most were crying foul about how such a 'great man' could be murdered so brazenly. Sadly, and Trinity knew this best, being a killer herself - most of the great, kind, benevolent men were the first to be offed by political enemies, or men or women holding great jealousy and enmity towards their victims. One of the two younger lords made a comment about how it could be "any one of them" who were the murderers, which elicited a death glare from Trinity towards nobody really in particular. Eventually the lady Shiida instructed most of the partygoers to move to safer parts of the mansion, while she requested that those interested in making a quick buck should stay. What this eventually entailed was that the majority of the fighting-capable party-goers were split into groups and sent to investigate different areas of the mansion.
Trinity committed to memory the fact the door to Lady Shiida's now fallen husband was locked and as such the murderer was now the only individual with easy access to the upper floors. She hoped for the murderer to be brought in alive, but Trinity sighed and thought to herself that it was going to be a tall order to keep someone like that alive. Especially when so many wanted him dead to avenge the Lord Wrys. But for money, Trinity would be more than willing to assist. And besides, she had made a fool of herself; she knew that. A good majority of the people she had seen and mingled with were probably going to be people she crossed paths with again in the future and she didn't want to be seen as a major threat. Yet.
It seemed that Trinity was part of the group going to the basement kitchens, which made her sigh because it was likely that she wasn't going to get out of this unscathed. Then she noticed the other people she was with. Two of them were familiar faces - one was Nascha, the lady she had met earlier, and the other was the old priest who she first met a while back on a "business trip" to Pyrathi. Now, why was he here, and how exactly did he get here? Oh well, no matter. The other two were unfamiliar to her - one was a well-built man who... Was surprisingly more in-tune with magic than weaponry, and the other was... ...Trinity could not tell if the unusually beautiful person she did not tell was a man or a woman. Trinity decided to ignore them as best as she could for now, lest she be distracted.
The kitchen basements themselved looked a mess, though it was clear that a contingent of maids and servants were in the midst of trying to clean up. They left their pots and dishes strewn about in their sadness, leaving the area in order to mourn. Trinity looked down and observed dust and broken glass on the floor as well. Soon, the burly man spoke, inquiring if anybody saw anything off with the dumbwaiter, which was to the west. Trinity eyed it from her vantage point but otherwise saw nothing too strange about it, aside from how messy it looked. "Unfortunately, it appears I do not see anything too suspicious about the dumbwaiter. Mister, if you would like to investigate this in case you are able to find something we can not, then perhaps I would have to concur with your suggestion," Trinity said, in a room voice and completely differently to how she carried herself during the panic earlier.
"But if the killer used this dumbwaiter to get to the upper floor, he would have had an accomplice with him. Though, judging from the fact we can embark on it, it probably wasn't used, presuming the killer is actually still on the upper floors. If not... Well, I suppose that just means he used this to get down. In any case, it seems that if you're willing to stay here and investigate, you will have to be the one to crank us up." Trinity pointed out. She also conveniently did not introduce herself to the fellows in her group. She would save that for when she was confronted with it.

Ah the mourning masses. Zerachiel had a soothing smile on his face, often stopping on their following to comfort softly a servant in grief, or a guest distraught caught in a corner. It was part of his function as a priest, as two of the party would very well know. The male had went up to the lady and offered his services for the last rites, and of course, she would think on it. He would wait for the lady's answer, but meanwhile he had to follow this group. Namely because the blonde haired girl he knew, and the large red haired mage was also familiar to him. But perhaps most of all, he was curious as to what they were doing in the first place. It would not be admitted that he had been too busy being his function to have paid much attention to the surroundings at the time. But as they arrived at the kitchens, a soft scent touched his nose, and his stomach reminded him that he came just a bit after the feast, so he had not eaten. But he would be fine with such a thing, had that aroma not tantalized his nose. With a glance at his companions, he noticed that they were mostly getting their stuff together. Gently, he slipped away, going towards where the aroma was, and where the food that still needed to be put away was. Curiously of course, he checked the ovens, half-expecting a morbid scene if he did so... but they were probably empty to say the least. Ah that's where the smell was coming from! The male reached it, seeing a large pot of a liquid substance, with more solid foods beside it, surprisingly rice. curious, he took a clean plate, dabbled some rice, and then let some of the soup hit the plate. Taking a bit of the soup, he smiled, and then mixed some with the rice... all to complete satisfaction. Of course, the horrified face of one servant that had not deserted his post made the priest clear his throat, and perhaps even blush. ''I'm sorry child, I'm quite hungry. I missed the feast due to a situation...'' he said, hoping he would be forgiven. Of course, he hadn't realized that's why the servant was horrified. A drop of the soup hit the ground and sizzled, letting anybody that was watching this unfolding comedy just what kind of food that was. A really, really spicy food, one that most of the guests had a tiny sliver and just decided not to touch. And yet, the priest was there, eating it like it was just normal. Needless to say, the servant was probably horrified, as there were rumours of this brew burning out innards in the city wasn't there? But one of the coming guests had wanted it so they made it... and one guest to eat that hadn't quite cut into it. And yet Zerachiel just sat there, eating the food and watching over the group, smiling fondly. Once he had eaten, he could truly throw himself into this... little investigation if he needed to. But this food was really, really good. Nascha Kieran Trinity Drake SifrSummary: Zerachiel spies Mapo Tofu AND EATS IT. Nascha stayed silent as panic broke out. She had nothing to say about this. Someone died. A good man died, at that. Tragic, sure, but that happened far too often for it to affect her. Good people died. That was the unfortunate way of the world. Soon, however, there was a request for aid in finding the killer. With money attached no less. Nascha didn't care about that, although she did want to find whoever was responsible for ruining the party rather than waiting for a quieter moment. Or, at least, a moment with fewer armed and dangerous guests around. One of the guests? Laughable. Not unless someone could disappear, do the deed, lock the body away, and return in a relatively short span without anybody noticing their disappearance and return. If it was one of the partygoers, it was one who'd gone missing. The only one Nascha had seen disappear for any length of time during the party was one of Wrys's sons. As for the guests, the craziest-sounding of them had been there and talking with her and Suna for pretty much the whole time. That aside, Nascha had volunteered to be a part of the investigation, and ended up in the group heading for the kitchens. One look at the group going with her made her wonder if she'd just become part of one of those "Person A, B, and C walk into a tavern" jokes. But she shelved that thought for the time being and quietly followed along until she got to the kitchens. There wasn't much to be seen, though. Plenty of dirty dishes, a few potentially lethal-looking utensils, but nothing that really aided in their investigation. For a moment, Nascha wondered if they should investigate the oven, but then remembered that it was the second floor doors that were locked. Meanwhile, the muscular man among the group asked about something called a 'dumbwaiter', a ridiculous name if Nascha had ever heard one. But she also had no idea what he was talking about. If it was whatever he and Trinity were looking at, it looked like a closet or something. "Okay, seeing as this is my first time in a mansion like this in...a very long time, I don't actually know what a 'dumbwaiter' is. Can someone explain?"Well, she'd probably look as dumb as the name now. But this was also the first time she'd been in a mansion in centuries, so she'd forgive herself later. [attr="class","info"]And in that moment... a loud scream rang out in the room. "Oh my Naga!" a young woman yelled, dropping her tray and having tears pool up in her eyes. She had large eyes, a delicate appearance, and a dress that very obviously established her as a servant, luckily one that had been allowed to serve drinks, judging by the fact that she had just dropped several delicate glasses. She must have been outside of the chaos following the murder, hence why she was cleaning up, but she looked terrified, her eyes wide. "Th-there's-!" And she couldn't even finish before she started sobbing, grabbing hold of the arm of the one who looked like a girl (or was it a boy?) and dragging him off somewhere, likely to sob all over him and explain that her shattered nerves had caused her to percieve that a goose in the oven had, for a moment, resembled that of a human head and torso.
But no matter. Such things were easily understandable after a night like this. She would be hushed up, taken to a quiet room to have her nerves settled, and she would be sheepish about the whole thing. It was life.
Back to business as usual.

THIS IS WAR
Arriving to the manor late and then proceeding to get lose within the manor shortly afterwards. Gairovald roamed the basement kitchens, trying to find an exit.
Seriously, how did I get lost in the first place? This was supposed to be just a simple dinner party with free food and the possibility of finding clients.
As he continued to wander, a realization just hit him.
It is probably going to be a bit suspicious if someone just finds me here. I don't exactly look like the typical guest. Plus I am armed. It may just be a common bronze sword, but I am still armed. Yeah… an armed man with a sword, wearing black leather armor and a black cloak is totally going to fit just right in. I could just tell the truth and hope they accept it. It's not like someone was murdered right?
Noticing a small group of people walking nearby, Gairovald walked towards them and asked, "Sorry, but could you point me to the direction of the party? I arrived late and then got lost," completely unaware of the conspiring events.
