BIO
• Nascha's past extends back well past her birth, even beyond the time of the Hero King. Many thousand years before the present, dragons lived and thrived in their natural forms. But over they started to decay, and were forced to seal their power in Dragonstones and become Manaketes to avoid going feral. But among the dragon tribes one, the Earth Dragons, refused to take human form. Only Medeus allowed himself to become a Manakete, and was tasked with guarding the other Earth Dragons when they were sealed away. But over time, with humans looking down on Manaketes and killing them while they were in human form, Medeus became furious and formed the Dolhr empire to enslave humanity. He was eventually defeated by the hero Anri, but not before discovering that Manakete in their human forms were not infertile and leaving a child behind.
• This child wanted nothing to do with his father's vengeance, and fled into the frozen north after Dolhr fell. There he lived for over a millennium, putting himself into deep hibernation for decades and even occasionally centuries at a time. The Hero King's life came and went during his slumber (most likely intentional, to avoid drawing the attention of the man who resurrected his father). Eventually, 1500 years after he left the remains of Dolhr, he too became a father, to a daughter who would bear the name Nascha.
• Nascha's childhood was spotty. She, like her father, spent long periods asleep, but during the time she was awake she was raised to live in isolation. While her parents bore no grudge against humans, they could only see trouble from interacting with them, and chose to stay separate. Nascha grew up on tales of the dragons, of Manaketes, and of Dolhr, all of which would solidify that belief for some time.
• As the north became populated, they moved away from it, back to the deserts of the land once called Dolhr. Five hundred years passed in the blink of an eye, but Nascha was still a child (for a dragon) when darkness swept across the continent. For it was then, five hundred years after her birth, that the Fell Dragon first appeared. Though different and far, far worse, her father sensed something similar to Medeus in the world ravaging abomination. He and Nascha's mother instructed Nascha to hide and left, promising to return when the Fell Dragon was defeated. But, even after the first Exalt eventually struck Grima down, they never did return.
• Instead, it was the influence of Grima that eventually returned. The land Nascha now called home became known as Plegia, ruled over by the cult of the Grimleal. The Grimleal dedicated themselves to resurrecting the abomination, something that Nascha couldn't agree with less if she tried. For some time, she fought them, appearing out of nowhere as they did their work, transforming, and tearing through priests and soldiers alike, only to disappear again while they were trying to recover. But it became clear, eventually, that she was accomplishing nothing but running out of places to hide afterwards. Her home was found and burned to the ground, and for many years she spent more time on the run than fighting them or hiding. But eventually, she overheard talk of an 'avatar' or 'vessel' for the Fell Dragon and developed a plan.
• Hiding away her Dragonstone, she instead tried to pretend to be human and trained herself in dark magic. Then, after enough time that she hoped most of the current Grimleal wouldn't know her, she joined them as a low-ranking cleric. And stayed there for a very long time, occasionally listening in on what conversations she could and gathering what information was available. Being the lowest rank on the totem pole, it was slow going. But no one got to live for over a thousand years without learning patience. And Nascha had all the time in the world. But eventually, she learned something that was useful to her: that the Fell Dragon's "vessel" had to be one of its own blood.
• That was where things got strange, though. Her chance came to thwart the Grimleal's plans as a suitable "vessel" was born, then went as they were spirited away by the mother. Then, years later, it came again as the Fell Dragon was resurrected. But, as it appeared over the Dragon's Table and Nascha stepped outside to confront it, she realized in an instant why her parents never returned. The sheer difference between the two was incomparable. Even as a descendent of the Emperor of Dolhr, she was nothing in the shadow of the Fell Dragon. Then, as the Exalt to be was transported to the abomination's back and defeated the Fell Dragon once again, Nascha was once again left behind without closure.
• After the Fell Dragon crashed into the sea and died, Nascha took to wandering the continent, clearing up what remained of the Risen and chasing the remnants of the Grimleal back into their holes. Hiding as one of them had, ultimately, gotten her nowhere, so she left that life behind. Once the continent was at peace again, she intended to return to her isolation. But that time never came. Instead, only twenty years later, the Risen would return in force, and Grima would rise again. Unequipped to handle the Fell Dragon and now knowing that for certain, Nascha fled from Plegia to Ylisse, where she hoped that she could turn to the Exalt again. But she arrived in Ylisstol to news that the Exalt had fallen, and found the country on the brink of civil war. Enraged that the descendents of the force that had stolen her chance to destroy Grima twenty years before had fallen so unceremoniously, she stormed out of the city. She might have abandoned the Halidom as well if she weren't approached by another group, the Knights of Cydonia. Though distrustful at first, she accepted their offer, acknowledging that she stood no chance of defeating Grima alone.
OTHER
• Nascha has Earth and Mage Dragon ancestry, and her dragon form reflects both of those. Her dragon form is a deep purple color, with ridges of horns along her head, running from her snout over her eyes to her neck A line of jagged spines runs down her elongated neck and back as well. She has strong legs with long, sharp claws, and though she has four wings, they're thin and narrow and only allow her to fly short distances. Her breath is a sickly violet color, looking and behaving much like dark magic. Despite its decaying and corrupting properties, it is no stronger than that of other manaketes.
• In her human form, Nascha's Manakete nature is only recognizable by her pointed ears.
• Nascha hates wyvern riders. Though she recognizes that wyverns and the dragons she's descended from are not the same, the similarity still hits too close to home.
• Nascha does occasionally seek out companionship, but she ultimately recognizes it as being temporary, and refers to it in those terms. This can put off people who want to, and still reasonably could, spend their entire life with her.
• Though quite knowledgeable about history, Nascha is very reluctant to discuss it. Especially where her people are concerned.
