So... people, talk to me. What's the timeline for the events in the Background info? Kuroya left it deliberately vague so that we all had room to work our own ideas, but now that most of the canon spots are filled, I was thinking we should throw together a reference. I can speak for the general Plegian timeline: 4 months ago - The late King of Plegia was assassinated. 3 months ago - Ascher is actually in power in Plegia, although he might never have been officially crowned. I assume the Fire Emblem was stolen around this time too. 2 months ago - Grima is resurrected. Exalt and co. die fighting Grima. Grima destroys everyone's ships. Falchion is lost. Maeve ousts Ascher. Ariel does this work for you? I have no idea when you thought Grima was first resurrected, so let me know. The Plegian succession timeline can easily be adjusted for Grima to be summoned whenever. In general, I assume the events listed in the Background info are pretty damn recent. Otherwise, it makes all our canons look really dumb for sitting around and not doing anything while all hell breaks loose.

from discussions in the C-box, I took it to mean that Grima was first resurrected about 2 years before the present dealings of the boards. I was operating under the assumption that the crown and Prisetship had changed hands several times during those two years, with the civil war and all. The timeline as you've presented it still seems fine though - 4 months ago was just when the last short-lived king was assassinated. 2 months ago could have easily been "Grima finds an avatar powerful enough to check off a few things on His list before slagging" sort of deal, which means He's still looking for a permanent solution. It also means 2 months ago Grima's rising goes from "this is a thing people say might have happened, maybe" to "oh well shit I guess Grima really is back" Two or three months ago is also around when Ariel herself came into power.
Also since I think it's worth noting, Katya and I came to an agreement about the Risen (specifically, the lack thereof). The answer is kinda embarrassing for both sides, but the reason so few are being summoned is that neither side independently can pull it off. The Royal Plegian faction can summon Risen just fine, if they want brainless immobile walls of undead that can't even fight. The Grimleal can infuse terrifying tactics and strength into the Risen, but don't have the right skills or knowledge to actually make them. Each side is trying to replicate the half of the puzzle they don't have, with limited success. This might change over the course of things, but at current it doesn't appear either side will have a huge advantage.

iirc shit went down something between 2-4 years ago. I've been assuming 2 though.
