Yos had never thought he would be summoned to such a important mission. Sure, he had in the end been promoted from the scouting line up to becoming a spy, but for them to give him such a mysterious job right away? He was... Proud. Maybe his skills had been given the recognition they deserved? Probably. He rubbed his hands together, laughing for a moment as he then walked over to his bird cage. His room was spacious enough to hold a lot of things, really. There was his bed, his supplies chest, his bird cage, his rat cage, and then another bed that had been made for... Someone else. He felt sad about leaving Brunhilde behind, though. His eyebrows furrowed down at the thought. She was the better fighter by a large margin, but he knew that she was just not trained for jobs like spying on someone. Or spying. Or well, if she was still a soulless machine or somesuch she'd probably be able to stay quiet, but that would just be horrid. He had done so much to get her true self out. He appreciated her greatly. A lot more than... Just friendship. He should mention that to her at some point. A bond of sorts, deeper than anything he had felt before. Brunhilde

Brunhilde had never really thought about many things in life aside from her own ambitions - how to become stronger, how to be a better fighter. But recently, somebody had really taught her that life wasn't just about that. He was an odd-looking fellow, but despite the demeanor, Brunhilde had learned a lot and had seen him as a friend - no, someone a lot closer than that. Regardless, Brunhilde had decided to take a trip to see that person. Well, Yos was really a swell guy after all. Brunhilde had never really opened up to anyone during her years as a soldier but somehow, something about Yos made her do so. Was it his persistence? Perhaps it was. But Brunhilde, this night, had a good reason to see him. Brunhilde made her way to his room and simply knocked on the door. Things to talk about. She had a suspicion that something about the whole arrangement for Yos that she had heard from him about in the past seemed... Off. She was happy for his promotion but at the same time she didn't want anything bad to happen to him as a result of the promotion either. Yos

While his bird kept munching on the seeds of wheat he had bought from a local baker, Yos rubbed the bird's feather in thoughts. He had tamed the bird ages ago, and it was already getting old. He would have to replace him at some point, possibly with a raven for more disguised night travel. It saddened him, to think about replacing someone so important to him. Animals were the few rare beings that he was not cripplingly awkward around. They never laughed at simple mistakes, they never tried to talk to you. They just were, and it made him-- Knock. Knock. Knock. His eyebrows furrowed as he closed the doors of his bird cage, taking a steady walk over to the door as he then slowly opened it up, a very loud creak coming from the door as he then stared trough the little crack into the dark hallway. It was only illuminated by the little torches along the walls. His eyes soon got used to the darkness as he stared at whoever was there. Slowly his eyes unfurrowed and he grew a smile, opening the door fully. "Thought you were someone else. Like anyone else other than you." Brunhilde

Brunhilde was not wearing her usual gear today. It was late, after all. There was little reason for her to be gallivanting around at this time of the day, so she was just wearing a similar design of outfit to what she usually wore, but only made of leather as opposed to actual plate or chain as she was accustomed to wearing during the normal hours. Yos thought she was someone else at first, but that was to be expected considering the darkness outside, only illuminated by the torches on the walls. Brunhilde nodded and smiled softly as she walked in the room and sat on the made, untouched bed, looking at Yos. " That's okay. It's dark outside or somethin'. Anyway, while I did want to congratulate you properly on your recent promotion, I can't help but think if they're gonna send you out somewhere on a dangerous mission. I just want to know, you know? I don't want to see you leave. You're the only friend I have around here." Brunhilde suddenly confessed her motives to the spy, fidgeting with her hands before shaking her head and looking right at him. Yos

He folded his arms as his face returned to it's usual stoic expression, although it was clear that it was slightly softer than from when he was around other people. He looked to the other makeshift bed that he had made earlier for... Well. For Brun. He sat on top of it, leaning forwards a bit as he listened to her speak. She wanted to congratulate him. That made him lose his stoic expression for a while as he smiled, before then hearing here concerns about him possibly being sent away for a mission, and him being her... Only friend. He stroked the back of his neck for a moment as his eyes darted all around in thought. They usually always did that when he spent time thinking about something. He had known Brun for a long enough time that he could drop himself into more casual levels with her, and he knew that she should be used to his awkward mannerisms. "You're... You're going to be fine." He nodded in a supportive manner. "They shouldn't be sending a rookie to death's door instantly. And besides, you'll easily get some more friends to replace me if I was gone." He smiled in a sad manner for a moment. "After all, you did manage to charm me, I'm sure you'll manage to get others to befriend you too." Brunhilde

Brunhilde smiled weakly as Yos folded his arms and began to do that thing he was usually wont to do; presenting that ever familiar stoic expression, one that he had adopted with most people. But Brunhilde knew he could get more casual with her. She could get more casual with him too. She was well used to his awkward tendencies, having awkward tendencies of her own. In a way, they were similar to each other. As Yos said that she was going to be fine, reassuring her of his safety, Brunhilde had little choice but to take his word for it. " I thank you for your vote of confidence, Yos." Brunhilde simply said in response. " I have my confidence in you to do well too. I wouldn't want to wish failure on you, after all. And don't call yourself replaceable. You're my first friend; you've managed to wedge a place in my good book so to speak. Don't sell yerself short." Brunhilde followed up, trying to repay Yos' kind words with her very own. " But you'd better promise you come back. If you don't... I'll try my darn hardest to find you and bring you back myself." "I will come back." He instantly shot that out as she presented her last words. He shook his head for a moment, laughing for a short while. He had always had that "muahahahaha" type of laugh for some reason. He didn't know why, and it always made things awkward. Except with Brunhilde. He then raised his head, leaning even more forwards as he sat. "I'll come back. I'll cement my position in the ladder, and then I'll... I'll..." He stroked the back of his neck for a moment before standing up. He then headed to the window on the wall of his room. He proceeded to push in a brick that was sticking out next to the window as another brick suddenly popped out next to it, revealing that it was hollow and seemingly holding a very little wooden box inside of it. He took it out and then threw it towards Brunhilde. He had spent a good amount of his pay to get this gift to her, and well... He was not ashamed to admit that it had taken him some time to think up on what to give her. It was even more weird when he thought about the fact that he had gotten her a RING. Not a proposal one, or well he wouldn't mind but no stop awkward He squinted his eyes as he then sat down back to the bed. "Feel free to open it if you want to. It's a little "I'll come back for you" kinda gift." Brunhilde
