BIO
• Even if anyone cared to hold a long conversation with him, it's not always apparent that he's been alive for at least a few millennia. He's never been the type to dwell too deeply on the past, not when doing so would inflict greater scars on him than some man who only lived for a handful of decades. If he had much of a childhood, then he doesn't remember. Or maybe he pretends not to. It's a little difficult to tell with the man.
• He has been acculturated in manakete communities, at least. Survival had always been the greatest priority to a dying race, and it is something that Jehiel himself has learned well after eluding humans for centuries. At the same time, he nurtured the heart of a wanderer. He had been a mage by trade but a dragon at heart.
• He had stopped by Feroxi to purchase a stock of Dragonstones when a new mine had been discovered deep in the mountains. The expedition had been lead by the Khan herself. She had been a formidable woman whom Jehiel had been rather taken with from the start. They didn't really have much opportunity to interact until the mine had caved in and the expeditionary group had to rely on his expertise to survive. They bonded in a crumbling cavern and it was the most romantic thing ever. It was to him, okay? Jehiel eventually became her champion and secured her throne for years to come. They have a son, and everything about their married life is rather traditional, sans the fact that one of them was a manakete of a thousand years.
• He has to live. he has to live until he finds something, somebody worth dying for. Jehiel had thought that person was the boy's mother. Maybe she was. Maybe he was destined to die in her arms, and he would have done so gladly. Except she had breathed her last before he did, and the boy had been taken by slavers. He leaves Ferox after the cleric confirms that his wife is dead. He does not need his heart to die before it stops beating. Once he had grieved enough to start searching for his son, he has already been whisked far, far away from him. Without his wife's authority and power, he is only one man who can only search one route at a time. After several years, Jehiel decides that his son is either dead or already clever enough to survive the world on his own. The next couple millenniums are a blur, interrupted only by the occasional hibernation.
• Jehiel has only very recently (within a few decades) come out of his hibernation of a couple centuries. The wars and bloodshed don't concern him so much. He's now a self-taught botanist who travels the continent in search of interesting plants to study.
OTHER
Jehiel mostly travels as a manakete these days. The roads are more dangerous than ever before, and being a squishy mage wouldn't help him survive. Being ancient and all, he's pretty good at blending in with most human settings as long as he keeps his ears covered up. An herbalist's skills are invaluable in these times of crisis, and Jehiel doesn't mind curing the locals in exchange for a safe place to sleep.
