There was a certain beauty in many things that life had to offer. The wonders of art and music and the emotions those wonderful works drew from their audience, for instance. Or even the amazing taste of food cooked just right and served to the taster's palate. Often even nature itself could be beautiful, such as a grove of verdant and beautiful flowers basking in the rays of the sun. However, some would also say that there were certain things that were just ugly. And the white dressed girl in a custom tailored outfit of white silk bearing the trappings of a Cleric of Naga would certainly say that the corruption of Ylisse was ugly through and through. She would say that it needed to purified, cleansed, made to look beautiful once more. And the only way to do that would be through spreading the purifying flames of Naga all throughout Ylisse in an effort to eradicate the vile and debased nobility that ran rampant. That even though it means fighting countrymen to the death, it must be done to create a new and wonderful Ylisse. And those who listened to her honeyed words, those that heeded her siren singing of Ylissean glory bought into it hook, line, and sinker. They heeded their symphonic siren as she spoke of Ceres' words, the call to freedom and equality through bloody revolution that would temper and cleanse. They believed more than anything and were ready to do whatever it took. And Viscera found herself more than amused. It was all too easy to spread the discontent and to constantly talk these maddened bloodthirsters into even more violent and gory action. Truly, the Grimleal priestess was reveling inwardly on her role in twisting and corrupting the faith of Naga. And Ceres just made it all the easier to do. Still, she had a role to play and after her latest mass was conducted, Viscera now needed to seek out the other Cleric. Perhaps this would be an eventful day rather than a boring one. Fire was so much fun to spread, after all. --- Tags: ceres

The head of the newest church in Ylisse would be holding a little mass of her own within the tavern in this cute, little provincial town nestled on the riverside in Taly's heart. The smoky place was filled with bawdy laughter, rough individuals and the warmth of a welcoming fire and the rustle of bodies going to and for. And amid all of this, the silver haired woman will be sitting on a chair tucked in the right corner, ringed by a group of men and the hood of the red robe laying across her shoulders as her silver locks bound and jump with each of her quiet giggles or encouraging nods. Her company is quite the contrast to the noblewoman, rough company from foresters, rangers, the odd man at arms bearing the sigil of some minor family and all manners of peasantry. There looks to be an odd dozen of them clamoring to hear her words as her head nods left and right in time with exclamations and comments from the group. Oddly enough, to any onlookers, quite possibly the one cleric who is seeking her, it's quite evident that Ceres isn't actually doing much more than responding to each of the comments directed towards her. Be it a sweet word, a gentle nod or a trilling laugh. And they seem to hang on further and further with each consecutive word as she breaks her rhythmic beat, her deep eyes catching sight of the cleric further back in the tavern, eyes locking with her before she slowly beats to the right to another one of the men. There is something scintillating in that look she shot the false follower of Naga, catching and broiling with some kind of hidden intensity as she beams at the man directly to her right. This discussion will continue on a few moments, before finally the silver haired maiden will put her hands in her lap and stand, gracing the group with a gentle smile as she nods her head to each and everyone of them. And then with one final departing bow she will bid farewell to the group with a blessing towards Naga before gently swaying towards Viscera with the warmest smile one could imagine. "Sister." She will hum as sweet as honey and smooth as silk as she clasps her hands behind her back and leans to the right with that smile of her's. Tag: Viscera

Viscera entered the tavern that her new "leader" was currently residing in, the many voices of a wide variety of people immediately spilling forth. After stepping inside, it was all too obvious what the commotion was as well. The lovely Ceres had a way with drawing people to her much the same way that Viscera did, a natural charm that exuded outward and enraptured those who saw the Ylissean maiden. In truth, the Grimleal priestess found her quite intimidating in that fact. It was quite a fortunate thing that there was no conflict in what the duo now did. The Plegian woman waited at the back of the throng, allowing Ceres all the time in the world to talk with the common folk. Their revolution would take time, it would take resources, and most of all, it would take people. Luckily they didn't seem to be lacking in that final category, though truly getting them into a fitting shape for their duty would still take alot of effort. As she surveyed some of the more noteworthy individuals present, Viscera's eyes caught with Ceres' and it felt like a wave crashed into her body. There was something in that stare, something intense and strong beneath the soft tone she then began to speak with once more. It wasn't the first time she'd received that look either, but it still rocked her just as it did then on the inside, even if nothing changed outwardly. But... what was it she saw in those eyes? Ambition? Determination? Or perhaps... The false Cleric of Naga continued to let her thoughts roll along, idly drifting in and out as a few more moments passed. And then there was a brief burst of noise as the crowd acknowledged Ceres' farewell with disappointed voices. The beautiful Cleric then approached Viscera herself, greeting her with a voice so smooth, so sweet that it felt like she could literally taste the honey in them. And Viscera smiled in return as she was greeted, her own appearing no less genuine. "Lady Ceres, I have returned after spreading the word of Naga's righteousness. The people are truly taking our message to heart." She took hold of her skirt as she spoke, curtsying politely to her "leader". --- Tags: ceres

Ceres chuckles gently, returning the gesture before offering Viscera that same smile she has been wearing all day, it could simply melt the coldest of hearts! Though, those well trained in people can catch that there is a certain dangerous edge there, as if the look alone could be a trap. "You need not resort to the courtesy, you know that we are all equals in Naga's gaze." And truly, with the inflection in her voice one could believe that she is being utterly sincere in that comment, yet, in the same breath reality points to the fact that she truly is the leader of this new grown theological revolution taking part in the northern reaches of Ylisse. "It does hearten me to hear the people still have faith in Naga, but we are still on the first steps of our journey before becoming one in her glory and purifying old Ylisse." She remarks smoothly, laying her hands on Viscera's shoulder as she leans gently towards the Grima Worshipper and smiles all the wider. "You can feel it can you not? The building of the wave? The exuberation of the people that salvation has returned." She remarks, her voice a trilling falsetto as she pulls her hands away to clasp them together in her lap. "Now is the time for action, but the same for discretion sister." She remarks, nodding gently to herself as the red clad noblewoman gently tilts her head to the right, silver hair cascading down her side as she peers at Viscera. "For I fear that our growing following will not be able to escape the notice of the steward and his cronies soon enough, and even a dying beast will lash out in it's death throes." The self-proclaimed prophet shall begin, closing her eyes and letting out a sigh. "It is a shame that it shall come to violence, but in a matter of such import as the fate of all under Naga's gaze, we must do what is called upon to us." She continues, almost as if conduction a sermon before she tilts her head down and opens her eyes, a searching look on her face that would simply pierce her compatriot's soul. "But then, you came seeking something on your own, did you not?"Viscera

Warmth followed where Ceres touched, a feeling that Viscera quickly tried to shrug off. She didn't have time for... that. Instead she focused on the sweet trill of Ceres' voice as she spoke once more. "You can feel it can you not? The building of the wave? The exuberation of the people that salvation has returned.""It's a marvelous thing! The people truly believe in our message." Her voice contained no hint of falsity whatsoever, just happiness over the situation. "It is grand that they heed us and believe in the true way that Ylisse should have been.""It is a shame that it shall come to violence, but in a matter of such import as the fate of all under Naga's gaze, we must do what is called upon to us."The false Cleric of Naga nodded, her voice solemn as she spoke next, "I am sure that Naga's gaze is upon us even now and her thoughts of our actions. What we do, we do for the better." Once more an utterly truthful statement, though that 'better' held a different connotation within her mind than it did Ceres', she was sure. A pointed gazed followed the silver haired beauty's words once more, piercing and strong. This woman was dangerous, so very dangerous. But risk was a part of life and Viscera may not have been the stoutest soul, but she wasn't afraid of some danger to see her job done. "But then, you came seeking something on your own, did you not?"Viscera wasn't surprised by the notice, not after those pointed and intense gazes that sent her mind all a titter so often. But this one was particularly powerful, she had to admit. The white clad Cleric nodded her head in response before speaking. "It is something important, but I am afraid I do not wish to talk about it right now. My path has lead me here and I simply wish to be of use to you, Lady Ceres. Even if we are equal, I am your's to command. I want to see the blessed land that you will create."--- Tags: ceres

Ceres will chuckle once more, putting a hand into the air as it flows in a chiming snicker. "Oh please, you are trying to flatter me now." She remarks, shaking her head left and right as her hands reach down to gently smooth out the red robe she is wearing. "Your concerns are my own, and I would loath to let them broil within you or grow stale." She remarks flowery before putting on quite the cocky grin. "To say nothing of the fact we'll be waiting here for awhile yet." She remarks, cocking a silver eyebrow and continuing to grin like the cat taht caught the canary. "We may as well eat and relax while we await for our compatriots, and you've no need to worry, the day is still young and there is much yet for me to command." She'll hum, her soft voice hinted with that gentle edge of teasing as she flashers her teeth at Viscera and turns about, making her way towards one of the seats tucked away in the corner and away from the larger group of men from before. "But first, you will have to tell me of this blessed land you see me creating." She'll remark, sitting down for now and closing her eyes as she leans back into the chair and lets out a relived sigh to finally have small bit of peace, she seems rather content! And yet, the questioning... Or is it interrogation? Has yet to cease. "To be clear, it is not my creation, but a fulfillment of Naga's will." She'll add with a little click of her tongue before rolling her wrist to motion her cleric on. Viscera

Viscera smiled as Ceres chuckled and remarked on her words. The other woman was already quite the beauty and the look of amusement framed her face well. That sweet laughter was also something to file away as one of her charming poi- No. Focus. This woman was a dangerous enemy, not a potential friend, ally, or... anything else. "Your concerns are my own, and I would loath to let them broil within you or grow stale."Viscera contemplated a response before simply shaking her head a bit. She followed after Ceres as she moved to sit, the distance from the gathered group that was still chatting away being much more comfortable than simply standing near the doorway. Not to mention the relief of finally being able to get off her feet once more. No matter how nice a pair of boots were to wear, it was always nicer to sit than to stand. The white haired Cleric hummed a bit in her own sweet manner before nodding to the latter remark that her silver haired patron made. "The world that I foresee would be one free of that foul steward, free of the corrupt nobility. I see a world where the strong and those that have risen up with them shall cut away the taint of the wicked that would restrain them and instill the true will of the divine. A world more beautiful than what we have now." She smiled sweetly as she spoke, her crimson eyes filled with belief in what she said as they looked into luminescent orbs. "And I see you at the helm, Lady Ceres. It is your guidance that we need in helping to fulfill Naga's will."--- Tags: ceres

Ceres was charming! It was infectious, positively addicting even, it was easy to see how she had already formed a small cadre of followers and it seems she'd already sealed the deal with Viscera at this point! Or well, she may well think so, conflicting goals and murky intentions abound, and Ceres always knew to be wary of those who were so open. If only because she knew it was the same act she was putting on. But of course, she would nod along as Viscera offers up what she sees, the cleric cocking an eyebrow and gently pursing her lips a bit before she leans back into her seat and lets her hands rest on her knees as her head tilts to the right as if she is considering something. "It is said Naga's most beloved are the meek." She remarks softly, eyes rolling up as she stares upward at the ceiling now. "But then, an exalt must be firm as well as compassionate." She remarks softly, that bemused look coming back over her face once more. "But then, I could never lay claim to such a title." She'll titter, her hand reaching up to her lips to stiffle another giggle. "To think, the Exalt in the North." She chimes, before laying her hands on the table and half lidding her eyes now and giving her companion a look that just begs her to respond to the little trailing thought. "My purpose is no more important than any other's, we all have our part to play and it is not our place to say where Naga's divine will shall guide us." She'll add with another sharp click as her eyes ever so slowly drift towards the fire on the near wall, the woman dressed in red peering off into the flames. "Now, you have been avoiding my question dear sister." She'll remark, leaning back into the chair in the most leisurely pose she's taken all day, come on, you can confide in her! Right? Viscera

"To think, the Exalt in the North." How easily it came to the silver haired maiden to be so charming and so enrapturing. How easily she seemed to tear down Viscera's mental defenses. How easily she drug out those thoughts that she so often repressed. Especially with that gaze that seemed so inviting. How frightening Ceres was... "I think it has quite the nice ring to it myself. It would definitely suit you.""Now, you have been avoiding my question dear sister."Ceres took an extremely relaxed posed following her statement. Now this was one of those games that Nobles like to play. Inviting, searching, trying to lure the other person into false confidence and to spill whatever you wanted them to. In truth, this was probably her whole game wasn't it? But just how much did Ceres truly believe in the dogma that she preached herself? It was a difficult question to answer and for the moment, Viscera continued to play along. "I wanted to find a change in my life. I wanted to get out of my family's castle and to see the world for myself. I wanted to experience new things and that's what lead me here to you. There are things that I desire and things that I want, but they're just material objects and don't mean as much to me as things of the spirit do. I couldn't stand just sitting around and waiting, never doing anything, and just stagnating in place. I needed to get out and truly live my life."That was... Actually more than she meant to say. It was all true, but she hadn't exactly meant to go that deep into her personal reasons. While she truly intended to corrupt Naga's faith and see Ylisse plunged into infighting, the Grimleal Cleric truly couldn't stand just sitting around and doing nothing while everyone else saw more of the world and did more and more things. She needed to see more of the world for herself, needed to do more with her life than just sit around and conduct prayer sessions, even if they were important. --- Tags: ceres

Cerise would extend her index finger as she cocked both eyebrows and pursed her lips. "Ah, but I think it would sound all that sweeter without that little complication of the north." She'll remark sweetly, her voice filled with a little titter of mirth as if she's laughing at her own joke here. How insufferably charming. "But, one such as myself could not lay claim to such a lofty position, as I fear I may well not be worthy to navigate such a trial by fire as it were." She remarks with a soft nod, her eyes closing once more as she continues to relax in her chair. And boy, does that robe look comfy, leave it to a noblewoman to be dressed in the most expensive of silks when acting as a religious figure, but truly, she is nothing more than a tool for Naga's will, and those tool come in all manners of appearances. And look at that face, there could not be a single inch of her or even an ounce of her essence that was not entirely dedicated to Naga. That cool, calm and sweet compassion she has exuded to this very moment could only come from one utterly set in their beliefs and confident in their purpose upon this world. "Oh? A noblewoman?" She'll ask, her voice sweetened with interest as she leans forward a bit, the woman now peering once more into Viscera's soul. "And what house do you hail from?" She'll ask, the rest of the explanation right out the window as this turns quite suddenly into an interrogation. Does she possibly see something else in this woman? Is she drilling her or? It's quite hard to tell. "You know, I was a noble too." She hums cooly, of course she had renounced all claims now. Viscera

"Oh? A noblewoman?"
And there was that gaze again. The soul piercing, defense rending gaze that sent her a titter. It brought a bit of red to her cheeks this time, the intensity burning like the flames that Ceres liked to preach of. This much devoted attention was something new to Viscera. She'd always been heeded and hounded, but never simply... listened to.
"And what house do you hail from?"
Even as it began to turn into an interrogation of sorts, Viscera found it hard to calm the welling feelings, but still pressed ahead. "I-I'm Plegian, as you can tell. After the conflict broke out between the Crown and the Grimleal my family has fallen upon hard times. I'm not sure if you would recognize our House."
"You know, I was a noble too."
With that comment, Viscera began to regain some of her normal composure and she began to grin once more, even under the weight of those fiery eyes. "I could tell. You have a grace about you that certainly speaks of the upper echelons. From what house do you hail, Lady Ceres?" A bit of turnabout was fair play and Ceres did remind her of someone else, even if her mind was refusing to actually remember who.

Ceres will open her hands out towards Viscera, palms facing her and the Ylissean at utter ease as she half lids her eyes. "Please sister, you would be quite surprised." She remarks softly, her gaze smoldering behind those lids as she hums sweetly under her breath to extract more and more from her little Plegian follower. She had certainly picked up on that fact, and she was quite surprised to count a plegian among her flock, especially one so devout and fervent in the ways of Naga, but then beggars cannot be choosers can they? The girl was cute regardless, and the way she looked at her only confirmed that Ceres was still very much in control of the situation. At least, so far as she knows. "It is not the current state of a house which dictates it's importance, but also it's legacy." She adds, as if repeating off some oft learned lesson. "And please, you are still trying to flatter me sister." She'll joust with a wry smile, pointing a finger at Viscera now. "House Superior, along the border of Ylisse proper and southern Talys." She remarks in a ho-hum manner as if it was hardly anything of interest. Because unlike Viscera, Ceres had absolutely nothing to hide in her pedigree. "Indeed, it is a matter of small consequence to be honest. A place I once called home that shall too be purged by Naga's holy flame if my father and sisters do not bend the knee to her glory. It is her will." She'll remark smoothly, eyes now closed as she lets out an oddly content sigh. "A shame, the ballroom is quite the sight."Viscera

| WORDS 192 TAGGED ceresNOTES You're burning her up, Ceres. |
"And please, you are still trying to flatter me sister."
"You deserve it, I think. In many ways..."
Viscera's voice came out in a silky smooth tone that was sweeter than honey and with a heartfelt sincerity that Ceres' somewhat lacked. Perhaps it was that latest smoldering look that did it. Perhaps it was that Viscera just couldn't deny herself anymore in front of this aggressive beauty. But after she'd said it, she could hear herself mentally screaming and shouting a single word constantly. FOCUS!
The silver haired cult mistress continued on, dropping the name of House Superior. That too seemed vaguely familiar, but her mind was far too scattered at the moment to piece it together. Though the talk of converting her father and sisters, as well as the contented sigh did reflect something. This dangerous woman practically worshiped Grima in all but name. It was a pity she seemed so convinced in Naga over the true God. But there was always time.
"It sounds like a shame, Lady Ceres. It will be a pity if we can't visit your home on happy terms."

Ceres would gently rest her arm over the back of the chair now, letting herself sprawl back a bit as the woman enjoys the first bit of relaxation she's had in... Oh, a few months or so? And a cute girl all a flutter on the other end? Well, that was all the better. Even if she does not truly trust her most ardent little follower just yet, if only because Plegians are quite persistent with their worship of the false god Grima, who she had more than a few words towards. And she was more than a little interested in finding how a Plegian noble had found her way to the forests of Talys, but then, one would not want to alienate the sweet butterfly with an interrogation just yet. "The difference between love and devotion is upon the edge of a sword, as narrow and dangerous as it as well." And she would take much offense to the implication that she could ever follow the fell dragon, her beliefs came from the truth that the only way for Ylisse to be cleansed of it's sin was through flame and smoke, and only those pure of heart would emerge from her divine judgement. And to Ceres, the sacrifice would be more than a fair comprise for saving all of humanity from the jaws of Grima. For his second coming was clearly a divine sign of Naga's anger with her wayward followers. "Oh, and you would visit my home with me?" She'll tease, her tongue poking a quarter of an inch from her lips as she shoots a wink at Viscera. "But, one could not be happier when delivering Naga's glory unto those who have been so blind as to turn away from it, so be what it must." She adds with a simple shrug. She just condemned her family to possible death in such a nonchalant manner. Viscera

"The difference between love and devotion is upon the edge of a sword, as narrow and dangerous as it as well."
A hand that previously rested in her lap below the table gripped tightly onto a bit of her dress' skirt, the words striking something deep within, but this time she wasn't entirely sure just who or what it was directed at. The words triggered it, but they didn't cause it.
"Oh, and you would visit my home with me?"
"I-I would like to visit your home, yes."
However, that comment and Ceres' playful behavior did bring a bit of color back into her cheeks once more before the nonchalant comment of killing followed. It was something she was used to from her own flock, though often it was said in a more remorseful tone by those who hadn't fully accepted Grima into their hearts just yet. This lovely woman was really something else. A mix of all the brimstone and righteous fire that the Grimleal preached about, but a denial of who's fire it truly was. All the easier, all the better for her true agenda. Perhaps she would be able to even salvage Ceres from this mess and save her mind from the false "goddess", Naga.
"I would still hope that they accept our message just as the people in this area have. It would be wonderful for Ylisse to be following a proper path once more."
