BIO
The Taguel always knew she was different. Maybe it was the fact that she was named after a cabbage, or that her adoptive father kept her in the tool shed out back. Some would even argue that it was her freakishly long ears, patches of fur, and tufted tail that set her apart. At any rate, she was not allowed out with her faults exposed.
Chou (as she was named by the man she called her father), was found on his property, nestled between heads of cabbage - or so he claimed, anyway. The old man could never give her a straight answer when she asked about her heritage. He would just laugh things off and tell her one of his annoying "dad jokes," even on his death bed (from natural causes, mind you).
Before he died, life was fairly simple; Chou helped out around the farm and kitchen, occasionally using her beast form to help complete menial tasks. It wasn't easy work by a long stretch, but she was quite strong in that form. The only thing she wasn't allowed to do with it was frolic around outside of her father's property.
She was forced to set off on her own when a relative of her father's came to claim the land, but not without first taking as much as she could carry and skedaddling. These included the obvious supplies, like food, but also small weapons and a few valuables to pawn for currency.
For a while she just skulked around on her own, trying to survive in the unforgiving land. Being sheltered and somewhat naïve did her no favors whatsoever, and often resulted in her own belongings or supplies being stolen. Eventually, what little money she had ran out, and as a strict vegetarian, this bunny was not interested in hunting small game. She probably would have starved to death, had it not been for the small warren she was recruited into.
The warren consisted of a ragtag group of survivors. From them, she learned about her heritage and the apparent abuse and mistreatment her kind suffered. It was likely why the old man - her father - had forbidden her expose her Taguel traits to the public. Aside from history lessons, Chou also learned how to properly protect herself while in her beast form, and though she certainly wasn't the strongest of Taguel, she could hold her own in a fight.
Unfortunately, her warren wasn't the smartest or low key bunch. They ransacked and utterly destroyed whatever farmlands they came across, regardless of hunger. Crops were dug up, half chewed and trampled. Fields were torn up and left with gaping holes. As a farmer's daughter, Chou was initially offended by the vandalism, but in time she found it fun - until the farmers, fed up with their livelihood being tampered with, called in some help to "alleviate" the rabbit population.
When it came to the possibility of a fight, Chou shamelessly bolted, leaving her allies to handle the sell swords by themselves. Given the apparent carnage that followed, she was glad to have done so. Since then she has been traveling on her own, wary of joining groups that might showcase the brashness of her former warren - or has a craving for stewed rabbit.
