[attr="class","infobig"]archive request change [attr="class","infosmall"]TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING [attr="class","info"]Okay so now as a note for all threads in the future, we are removing the reward for finishing a thread. There were misgivings about adopting that from the old site anyway, and between the hassle of having it in place and some issues that have come up since then, we've decided as a staff that it is going to be removed. Paralogue rewards will be staying, that's what makes them special, but for the moment, normal threads will not receive additional bullion upon completion. A hassle of moving a thread? Really? It wouldn't hurt to just downgrade the reward. Completing a thread is a great feat and not all characters might be applicable for paralogues. A paralogue shouldn't be any more special than an ordinary thread besides the unique weapons you may get from it as a reward. In terms of plot and development, it does not necessarily mean paralogue > normal thread.
The reward is honestly what's been encouraging me to work hard on replies and I believed that I'll actually be able to complete almost 90% of my threads in this site.

It wasn't just due to the fact that it was a hassle. We could rework it, but one of us objected strongly to it in the first place, and after some observations it seemed like her objections had some merit and other staff started to see it.
It's not needed. We're spilling Bullion out of every orifice. We've got some people with high level weapons already that may I remind everyone are for flavour, and not for any sort of leveling system. We've got Paralogues that offer Bullion, we've got Bullion per post, it's easy to consider raising the amount of Bullion per post later, we've got OOC Contests and OTMs that are offering Bullion. It's really not like you are hurting for ways to get currency.
You have Bullion like we're offering Halloween candy.
And frankly, we messed up. It was a half-baked idea that was implemented, we messed up, we're fixing it. We're sorry. We're plebeians. We're human. Miscommunication happens. Accidents happen. Oops.
I'll be back on Tuesday and y'all can come have a go at me on Skype then if y'all got a problem. My username is hikari2yami, come talk to me and I'll be down to earth with you.

To be entirely, utterly one hundred percent honest? I was going to put something up or poke one of the staff about this soon enough that maybe the thread completion reward should be cut down or the prices raised for individual items, most specefically I'd point towards Master Seals since I'm sixty posts in and can already afford that, a skill and three weapon ranks from... Two finished threads and a smattering of postings here and there? I mean! It's awesome and great that these things are here and it does give that little mind scratching incentive to get out there it's just a bit underwhelming that it's essentially so easy to get there? Flavor as it may well be, it seems that equipment and abilities on the paper outpace like, any kind of character development.
And that's why I had an issue with how easy it was to attain huge amounts of bullion, because it kind of put an emphasis on attaining those items first, before you know, playing our characters as they fit and actually developing them. I've essentially pushed Victorie to mid-game level with two weeks worth of character interactions? It just cheapens actual character development at a certain point.
Hell, I'd wager at the risk of causing consternation among people, that maybe the prices should be raised in conjuncture to fit with a more long term view of how much players will post over the lifetime of the site. Of course, the danger to this kind of action is the fact you need to fit in that some people would already bought their items on the cheap and those that saved up/waited were screwed by changes. So, I don't know if that's something possible or worth pursuing at the moment for those very reasons, but food for thought is always nice.
Also! Of course you're human and you're all expected to make mistakes! It's part of growing pains but it's still necessary to making a wonderful site and I can't wait to see where it keeps going from here!
Simply put: I like the move, even if it means I have to post more to get my kicks in.

It's very hard for me to get the seals. In general, it varies from person to person with how they want to roll in their RP, and just because you have the bullion for it doesn't mean you have to purchase it. So the shop prices are reasonable. It's the people who use their money that matters.
I'm just sad completed threads don't get rewarded because of the amount of work put on them. I'm disappointed that I won't get bullion because completing threads would have been where I would really be getting anywhere on them, but it won't really change anything for me. I'll just be resuming with what I've been doing. Just because completing threads don't give reward anymore doesn't mean I should start grinding by doing more posts for that purpose.
edit: ps i don't really care that much about the bullions. at the end of the day, I know i can justify rp over shop items
