Into the desert, Aramis fled. It was cold out there at night, terribly so for a man that hadn't had the time to even grab a blanket for warmth. For the sake of stealth, he couldn't afford a light, let alone a fire. He shivered and pressed onward--alone. He had comrades, Athos and Porthos, but they had struck a different course. They covered their tracks, but badly. They want to be tracked, after all. The darkness made it difficult enough to follow them; they couldn't make it too difficult, nor could they make it too obvious. You stand at the edge of the desert facing southwards. You were following footprints, but they only led you as far as you stand now. It is pitch black, and even the lights of the town are far behind you now. Looking southwest, the sand seems different somehow--off, as if the dunes don't line up quite right. Looking straight west, the sand's been tossed around, a lazy and haphazard attempt at hiding a trail. Towards the east, the desert seems undisturbed. (For the record, I rolled three 1's in a row on a d20 on an initial perception check for you guys. You guys are lucky I didn't leave you two facing north.) i am the mosquito; your wound will be sucked like a mosquito. Love me, love me, love me, love me, somehow my body gets hotter and hotter GillyBlonde hair swishing in the dark night, wind stirring the strands. Purple eyes that one was positive would glow in this setting, as her eyes gazed here and there. Of course there was the option of putting on her tactician's robe, but she didn't care much for it right now. Her face was covered with a lower mask, and her fingers shivered, even as she stroked the surface of her book. But was was more important, at her side was a bronze sword, along with a small stick. The woman was waiting for her companion to arrive, the one that she had set out with in the first place to intercept this spy. Although, Firynmara felt almost like laughing, considering her position in their beloved cult. She had wanted to take some Risen with her, but none of them were ready on short notice. It was a pain to try and smuggle them from the royal family, Inessa had risked her cover too often already. So they had to wait a bit, and try to find the other half of the puzzle. Firynmara had half a mind to try and infiltrate the palace somehow, after all tacticians were valuable weren't they? With a flick of her wrist, she cleared the dust that was gathering around her, and her gaze went behind her, where the other figure was sure to be. They had little time to sit and discuss, her gaze sweeping over the dunes. Two dunes that looked disturbed and one that did not. She hadn't gotten that much information, just that a traitor escaped with information. So why were there two tracks? Perhaps nature had disturbed one, as the girl turned towards the other figure. ''I'll take the southwest. You take the west. It's more disturbed, so you'll find something there for sure. Remember, keep magic to a minimum, it'll be a beacon for any reinforcements to find you.'' she said, her voice low, quiet and straight to the point. Firynmara would go the more possibly dead route because she was sure her long legs would make her carry faster in stride. Plus she had a sword, so if it did turn out to be something, she could be more silent about it. Obviously, going in a direction with a guarantee to find something would put the distractions there. If this one was stupid enough to use their magic, but Firynmara figured that would come as it came, her body taught and nervous. She wanted to get going already, as she shook her head, and then took off in the direction she picked. Well hopefully she didn't suffer from poor judgement and they let the guy leave by accident or something. Now that would be quite problematic and quite dangerous for the Grimleal. After all, being mobilized like this meant that it was quite sensitive information. Like perhaps her very function, or existence. And the blonde haired woman didn't want to let that be a possibility, so she was going to hunt down the traitor. And make sure that nothing leaked of course. (C) ELLIE @ GANGNAM STYLE

The order had come rushed and with short notice. The mercenary commander only had a few of her men with her at the time, the rest busy with other work. With only a vague direction of where the one she was supposed to pursue had run off to, it made the call a difficult one. Stay in a group or split up? With as much potential ground as they had to cover, she made the latter call. Her men were split up and looking into circular routes around the south while she pursued the direct route. The Grimleal were paying her good money and the promise of additional pay with the capture of the spy was a very enticing bit the priest had thrown in. Xin'chi looked over towards her blonde companion, a tactician judging by the robes, Fir-something or other. The dust of the evening constantly crossed their vision, obscuring more intricate details that would help with the tracking. But it seemed that the golden haired Grimleal spotted something after all. Looking toward the same direction, she noticed the disturbed dunes, obvious indications of travel that weren't so easily washed away. "Was there not only one we were supposed to be pursuing? I suspect he has help."Regardless, the polearm toting mercenary did have a bit of confusion towards the magic comments. Had this Fir-something woman expected someone else to be sent with her as well? Not a good sign if something had happened to the other that was supposed to aid them. Traitor or dead, it was a bad sign. Still, she began to head towards the western dune, keeping a careful eye out as she moved for any further signs of her quarry. As she topped the dune, a figure began to come into sight, though the darkness of the night made it rather non-discernible from far away. Quickening her pace, she began to break into a run for the other individual. --- Tags: Firynmara gnosis
