BIO
• Being the daughter of a barbarian warlord is a rough start to life, but that was how her life went. Owing her creation to a pair of raiders treated as part of the tentative Plegian "army", Rowan had a poor and simple start to life - her folks stole to survive, ransacked to get by, and most importantly of all, were constantly in danger from crossing into Ylisse to attack the poor saps on the receiving end of their axes. Rowan managed to recover some degree of morality from this upbringing only due to her parent's own views on the world; while they were fully aware of what they were doing and that it was wrong, it was better they were attacking villages rather than actual murderers and thieves who would take lives among valuables. This curious approach taught Rowan a core tenant in her life - you would have to get your hands filthy to do what was right.
• Rowan was trained on all the basics of axe use at a young age, forgoing a large part of childhood to focus on combat. Bright enough to see that her parents couldn't afford to care for her the way they wished, she enlisted; Plegia was in need of cannon fodder anyways given how they wished to ransack the rest of the continent to get the Fire Emblem. Distancing herself from her heraldry for a moment, she took up residency with the bow; a fine weapon, and in due time it became a natural extension of her body.
• Rowan took pride in the efficiency of army life - despite the mad politics, the rigor and organization of an army suited her desires. She felt like she could do some good from such a place. With redoubled efforts, Rowan worked her ass off to get herself noticed midst all the prodigies and exemplary murderers that called themselves plegians, and she got her answer through a mixture of other people's failures and her own success.
• Pride at work. Rowan saw fit to quickly restructure the personal guard of the Plegian royalty the moment the Grima incident was ended, putting in many of her own recommendations and suggestions during the disarray the country found itself facing. When you bark orders, the dogs tend to notice, and from her position as captain she was raised to the true Captain of the Guard, known not only for her keen insight on how and where to secure stability but her keen shots into the backs of those in the way of such peace.
• Time passes. Rowan has turned her attention from the internal structure of the country to the borders and beyond; the recent infighting and bandit issues seem to cloud over deeper, age-old problems between countries. Rowan was determined to prevent the outbreak of one more pointless war between men.
OTHER
O Captain My Captain.
Rowan has a weakness for sour treats and cold drinks.
While she favors the bow, her knowledge of axes still lurks, and as such you can often see her training with a dummy hatchet whacking away at poor logs to keep her upper body strength in check.
Seriously. Check out her triceps.
