a message from plegia

A vivid landscape glowed with the rich golden brown plains of the tundra. The acres of land stretching in all directions reached the bright white sky and made it its border. When one stood as a tiny speck in this grand scale of nature and imagine the frozen north swirling in the mountains, the rich greenery and diversity breathing below, and the harsh, pounding heat pulsing to the far south, it seemed that one's very existence was a miracle itself. Yes. It was a completely empowering thought. A miracle that strove and conquered these wonders much greater than one's self.
This is the excitement Sakalam feels when she travels and sees the land she governs in. The day's journey was long but she found new exhilarating strength filling her bones and bringing air to her lungs. She smiled all day, laughter blowing off her thick, pink lips.
But as she got closer to her destination, the sky grew more foreign. Her territory thinned until the land she saw faraway was no longer hers. Ah, but Sakalam continued to smile, perhaps even larger, her eyes more gleeful than a young cub who slayed its first prey. There lied on the other end was western Ferox, the other half of the country that belonged to her. The prospect of "more" lit a fire to her laughing greed.
It was only natural. Each leader must aim to take new lands. The other khan thought the same. Though they shared drinks and maintained contact, they were of the same opinion that only one may rule all. Even Sakalam was not certain if the destiny were meant for her. She liked keeping her mind open. Today, she might have already seen something her sister did not.
They spotted the other convoy from western khan arriving right on time. They would have their meeting under the sky, in the middle of the exposed wild by the border of their regions. Sakalam unmounted as the wind assailed her heavy wool cape and prickled her arms and legs, not draped over by her usual, excessive attire when representing herself as a khan in court. Her men took positions to her left and right. Sakalam stepped forward and took her mask off.
"Isabela."
Isabela (By "sister" she meant being a fellow Feroxi. also takes place before their threads with the plegian diplomats to talk about plegia's message to converse with them)
