BIO
• A long-time member of a Baker's guild in the small Ylissean province in which he was raised. He would and still will frequently provide for the townsfolk nearby, so long as he has the tools to do so. He is neither beloved or hated by those he helps, merely appreciated.
• In addition, Urien has been a solid member of several local militia units, and is trained to use several different weapons, but in an ordinary small-town setting, he is most proficient with pole weaponry. To better train townsfolk, he knows full well how to convert farm implements for self defense and does his best to spread this knowledge about to better prepare the more humdrum peasantry for the worst.
•Seriously, a fieldworker's scythe is going to be completely worthless in any combat situation unless you reattach the blade rotated 90 degrees.
• Urien has been trained to use a myriad of weaponry, but his ordinary loadout leaves him a tad overencumbered to utilize a sword or axe with any proficiency.
• Wears heavy plates reflecting his frequent stints on various Town Watches. He has never quite had any chance to put these to use, having rarely seen any actual battle. Miscreants in the region were few and far between, the most he's ever had to do is shout at potential livestock thieves-- none have raised a hand to him in response. Often these uneventful patrol shifts would transition right into a morning round of baking.
• Far from unintelligent; Urien would occasionally flip through novels and historical accounts (borrowed from neighboring libraries) alike by torchlight. He is fairly certain the tales told in books will always carry more weight than anything he is likely to witness or accomplish in life.
• Urien has drifted from town to town for much of his life, offering the same sort of helping hand for little to nothing in the way of compensation besides an occasional roof over his head. The has not made him any friends, and he has at times been dismissive of some towns' attempts to nail him down as part of their community.
• His parents are deceased by way of old age and stress. The farmland upon which he was raised were frequently held up for 'protection money' by a local band of thugs, and neither an adolescent Urien or his adult farmer parents possessed the physical ability to realistically resist. The family did typically manage to hide away enough money to put food on the table from season to season, but the conditions were near poverty. Dissatisfaction with a life he was forced to grow up in only led him to better himself and help keep others from having to go through the same thing.
• Though it was the subject of many a power fantasy growing up, those responsible for harassing and threatening him and his family really did 'get away with it'. He wasn't really properly equipped to seek that revenge in his youth, and as an adult he's long since moved past this petty revenge-seeking phase. Life isn't fair, and this is a fact he has come to accept.
• He does not however feel his life story carries any relevance to his day-to-day, and isn't typically one to volunteer the information in conversation. Urien lives for the next day, and has nothing in the way of aspirations or goals in life.
• Holds firm disbelief in objects or phenomena he hasn't encountered in written word. Is pretty sure of what is and isn't real, and will insist upon his own gathered knowledges over first-hand accounts.
