Her hearing was good, even with the wind muffling the sounds coming out between the two of them. It helped that he was pinned to her back as well, instead of sitting up straight. She did slow down once the imminent threat was abolished, however. If there wasn't a reason to go quickly, she wouldn't. It was when she slowed down and the adrenaline had died that she realized that she had forgotten her basket down on the ground. Oh well. Some bandits would be having an afternoon snack of mushrooms.
"I sure hope they don't come back." She replied to her newfound companion. "I don't like fighting if I can help it. But yes. I am a manakete. That's why I didn't need any weapons for protection." The rumbling chuckle sounded from her again. "The appearance is often enough."
Her home was actually not that far by flight, and for the well-trained and sharpened eye, the towers of Ylisstol could be seen far on the horizon. Yet, to many, it would look just like a regular, if not grand city from this distance. She started to slow and then called back up to Brendan.
"Hang on tight!" She warned, and she started to descend. She tried not to make it as sharp of a dive as she normally gave when she was headed for her house. She didn't want to do anything reckless with a passenger on board. However, with good time, the outline of a small cottage could be seen. The cottage was in a cluster of trees, with only a winding path leading to her house from the main road. It was quaint, pretty, yet very plain. In the back, a garden could be found, and even some wild animals grazing in it. Well, that was until Yaesa set down beside the house and terrified the little buggers away. She lowered her head and waited patiently for Brendan to get off.
"Go ahead and head inside, I'll be there in a moment. I'll make you some supper, then we'll set off to your dad. You'll have to tell me where he is so I can fly you to him." The dragon told him with a motion of her claw. It seemed like a very odd sight, a live dragon being human and maternal.
