history
◉ A native to Ylisse, Shane is the only child of her taguel mother Leone and human father Siebold. Shane didn't have the pleasure of being raised in a Warren among her own kind. Therefore the lifestyle and general teachings of her people fell to her mother since she was the only forebear of the beast blood, what little she knew of it at least. As a young child she often felt ostracized by the other children in the town due to her appearance. In these times she often found herself wishing that she'd been born resembling her father more-so than her mother; if only to be welcomed by those her own age. Bullying was commonplace in her younger years unfortunately, it's made her strongly sensitive of having her ears touched since they've been tugged one too many times.
◉ She was quick enough to guard her emotions at a young age, toward those who ridiculed her at least. Her mother constantly reiterated to her the concepts of 'taguel pride', that it was unacceptable to be put down for simply being herself and saw fit to call the offenders unsavory tittles despite their young status. Luckily not everyone in their modest settlement shared the same views as the majority of youths. The fact remained that her parents were well-respected people in the community remained, her father a retired soldier and her mother a...well...she never actually knew what her mother did before settling down. Whenever she bothered to question the family matriarch she would just receive a gentle ear stroke and remain unanswered. Eventually Shane just stopped asking.
◉ Her friendships were few in number but she didn't mind. It became increasingly difficult to form strong ties with those who accepted her when her mother seemed to drag her off every other month into the wilds to train. Exercising the fact that nature itself played a larger role in her life. Her beast form came to her naturally enough as the survival training continued, the alone time she spent with her mother served as adequate enough bonding however the older woman was exceedingly more strict out in the wilds; due to the unpredictability of it all. That, and caring for a daughter who tended to let her curiosity get the better of her. It was during these excursions that Shane began facing foes, acting as a support to her mother who both awed and inspired the youngster with her deftness in battle.
◉ Archery training was left to her father. Her mother just snorted indignantly when he informed his daughter that it wouldn't be wise to rely on her beast blood for everything, Leone was a proud woman indeed. As an old soldier he knew how to handle a bow with adept skill, though he favored the sword foremost he decided the bow would better suit Shane's natural agility and finesse; and it was true. Her training with the weapon carried over on her monthly treks through the mountainous terrain and she soon found the ability to strike from a long range indispensable in certain situations.
◉ As Shane got older the need to go out on her own grew more fierce. At the point where these wants became too great she had only just reached her fifteenth autumn on this world. She was not ignorant to the turmoil the world appeared to be enveloped in, too often had their own town become the target of bandit raids to which her parents and many other adults capable of handling some form of weapon sought to protect their home. She herself had engaged in her fair share of scuffles with idiotic humans who thought her weak, she found herself taking after her mother when it came to demeaning insults toward certain humans despite carrying half their blood herself, not that anyone knew since she could pass of as a full-blooded taguel.
◉ At sixteen she set out on her own, though unsure of just what it was she was looking for. In her travels she found herself assisting various settlements she came across in any way she could, empathetic to their suffering as well as overly pleased with their offers of food in exchange. Her gluttonous tendencies were as prominent as always. With the promise of food usually came a place to rest for the night, while she was not opposed to sleeping outside she still felt compelled to accept the offers whenever they arose; coming to terms with the fact that even if she denied the person in question would insist. Such places were few and far between however, with the rising tensions in the land not everyone was complacent and so willing to trust.
Weapon: Beaststone
Birthday: October 10th
Four Base Classes: Taguel, Archer, Thief
Notes: Like all taguel, Shane's armor pieces carries over onto her beast form when she shifts, in accordance with her specific bloodline she takes on the form of a large silvery-white pelted rabbit with the usual unnerving, luminous red eyes her kind are known for; essentially making her appear as monstrous as her size entails.
