Dark clouds were rolling in on the edge of the coast, casting shadows across the area the group was in. A storm was imminent; the group had best act quickly to clear the bandits. While the rain would serve as cover to dampen the noise of their movements, it was also a hindrance to fight against enemies and a downpour. The same may not hold true for the bandits who possess a great understanding of the area ... > Locate the bandits and take them out.

UNKILLABLE MONSTER ( tags: Bandits. words: 241) Garrit cursed under her breath, shaking her head in a futile attempt to get some of the rain out of her eyes. She was excited about an actual fight, although the idea of fighting in the rain made it seem less glorious then she had hoped for. Then again, all the better with all things considered. It made it less likely to be swamped by the bandits then it would in broad and clear daylight. As disgruntled as she was, it wasn’t the worst part of the whole situation.
She knew not to jinx herself, especially with being paired up with Ponytail here. Even though she protested, but it was required for building up trust and some other crap like that. She hated it and made little to no effort to conceal the fact. She didn’t like the man from the first time she laid eyes on him. What it was, she can’t quite tell. Quite frankly she hated all nobles with a fiery passion; perhaps her prejudice just got the better of her. That didn’t seem correct, as he was leading a group of knights on actually accomplishing something of worth.
“Hey Ponytail, we’re going the right way?” she asked, practically glaring at him at this point thanks to her mood. She didn’t like the fact that is was so damp, this dampness can definitely cause illness and in extension death. That was something she wanted to avoid if possible.

i've gotta make a stand, A large part of Dorian wished that they had not chosen to depart Ylisstol in this manner, but there was nothing he could do about it now. When he'd heard about how the village was dealing with bandits, however, he'd been unable to resist agreeing to help. Then the storm had rolled in quickly from the sea, bringing with it a fierce downpour that was making his long lavender hair turn a deep violet and plaster itself to his back and his arms. Still, he wasn't like some of the pampered nobles back at the castle, and he had refused to back down when some of the knights had tried to insist he remain back at the inn in town. He was fighting, and that was final. He'd taken a couple of his other knights with him, a pegasus rider and the boisterous woman that he knew was friends with his tactician, Sylvania. Neither of them were particularly fond of him, and while he might have wished that August had joined him as well, if only to see a friendly face that wasn't contorted in a scowl when turned in his general direction, he wasn't about to let the other come out in this kind of weather, not when the smaller was still recovering from his plight.
The pegasus rider seemed to have gotten separated from the two of them - or at least, the noble couldn't see her or the flying horse in the rain - but he figured that she could more than take care of herself. The question from slightly behind him made his fingers twitch where they rested against the hilt of his sword, but he refrained from drawing it, just as he withheld a comment about the gaze boring holes in the back of his head. "To hell if I know," he replied, raising his voice a little louder than he might usually to ensure that it carried through the rain, his head turned slightly to the side so that the sound wouldn't have as much trouble reaching the woman behind him, "but we seem to be heading in the general direction of shelter, and if the bandits aren't hiding in a town, then chances are that that's where they'll be." They walked for a few moments more before he added, "You know, if you don't like me, you don't have to hold your tongue about it. It's not like I'm going to punish you for it." He shrugged. "I've learned by this point that I can't make everyone like me. I'm not that narcissistic. I just want to get us all home alive, and I think that's something we can both agree on by this point." | Words;; 452

Template by Kuroya Notes;; Somehow, I don't think Broly would've left the town with the knights, and somehow, I also don't see Thalia sticking with the main party for very long.
Also the icon doesn't sorta fit the storm, but it's sort of my image of a more roughed-up Dorian, which would definitely fit him for this thread, where he's a bit more disheveled than usual. |

The downpour continued with no sign of the bandits anywhere nearby. The group of four continued along the path, but with little scenery to chew on, it was evident that the bandits were not preparing for an ambush. In that case, what were they possibly waiting for? A clap of thunder followed by a flash of lightning briefly illuminated the area. As far as they could see, there were no signs of the bandits. Over to the other side of the coast was a rocky wall. There seemed to be nothing atop it, but perhaps it warranted further investigation. Nothing seemed to lurk along the coast other than heavy rain-clouds and intense bouts of rain. > Further investigate the area. > Try not to get hindered.

dauntless, tagged @broly ur next Lightning struck from the clouds, revealing from its flash the desolate coast under the flying pegasus and the pair of sea green eyes that stared at it, wide without fear. Thalia's white-gloved hand stroked the pegasus' mane. The weather helped to keep her obscured from an archer's range, but she wouldn't be flying up here if it hadn't been for Canuto's courage. The thunder had been nerve-wrecking for her pegasus. He would need some reprieve some time soon. But when was that? She wanted her eyes from the air to yield results but not a single living being here helped to give her a clue. She supposed that was a good thing...but how would they fix the problem if the bandits decided to go on hiding at a time like this? If they didn't show up, they'd have to track them down on another day. Thalia looked past her shoulder. There was nothing but darkness rolling behind but she knew that the the caravan the other party was protecting lied within it. What if the bandits attacked the caravan from behind? Thalia pursed her lips, making a decision. She swooped down before the others, stopping them from their tracks, the hooves of her pegasus splashing on a small puddle. "Sir, there's a rocky wall ahead. I didn't see anything suspicious but visibility for me is as poor as yours. We should remain cautious," Thalia reported to Dorian. "Also..." Thalia looked down at Canuto. Only she could tell how badly he was shaking. "No, never mind," she said. "Do you have any orders?" - [why the lack of faith kuroya :c]

"you know i'm bad, i'm bad, i'm really really bad"
MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS | "Aaaaargh!!! To hell with it all!!!" Even in this heavy downpour and the loud sounds of raindrops and lightning, his voice still roared. Covered in a ragged robe to protect himself and his blade from the rain, Broly climbed up the cliff at seemingly unreal speed, keeping watch for any bastard to appear on top. The others mattered not to him; they were first of all, strangers, and secondly, most likely a band of fools trying to act heroically. He didn't need the glory, he didn't even come with the intention of helping the villagers. No, Broly's sole reason for coming there that day and recklessly aim for the top, were clearly expressed in his voice and speech.
"Come out, ye louts!! Get over here and face me properly!! I swear to these darned heavens, when I find you sorry lot, I will Tear You all Apart!!!"
The redhead wasn't just furious; he was absolutely livid. Coming from a pack of bandits himself, Broly knew the dangers of assaulting an Ylissean town, for he experienced them well. By the time he escaped prison, all gangs probably came to hear the word of leaving Ylisse out of raiding range for a while; yet, those buffoons decided to go ahead and break the little while of safety. As the man who organized the entire prisonbreak operation, Broly took direct offense towards himself in this act, and was more than willing to take it all out on the fools. The main problem was, however, that they were nowhere in sight.
Blinded with his own rage, the bandit rigorously started climbing up the cliff to get to the top, covering it in no time at all. He made sure to keep his distance from the edges once he reached the top; and still, much to his frustration and further engagement, none of said criminals were found anywhere in his field of vision. Was this village really occupied with bandit problems? They beter had not been wasting his time...
"I said come out!!!"
Still no sign of them? That was just weird. |

Atop the rocky walls, the remnants of a campfire and what used to be camp could be found, except the rain had been battering it to a point where it was torn beyond recognition. Even though it seemed that the bandits had left earlier than the party's scout could reach them, it was a good sign, as it meant that the bandits had not anticipated the rain either. The yelling did nothing for subtlety. The bushes rustled, but closer inspection would reveal a scared rabbit that had lost its way back to its burrow. Around the camp were a few patches of newly-turned soil, and scattered bushels of leaves. > Investigate the campground. > Try not to get hindered.

i've gotta make a stand, The pegasus rider swooping down in front of Dorian startled him, and he jumped, his hand instinctively jumping to his blade before he recognized the dark pink hair. "Thalia," he gasped, calming himself, "you startled me." Pulling some of his long violet hair back with a grimace as it trailed wetly along his skin, he nodded to himself thoughtfully. "Thank you for the report," he replied to her. "My guess is that the bandits are seeking shelter somewhere near it." He noticed her glance at her pegasus, and immediately his mind leapt to memories of how lightning would strike tall trees, and the prospect of possibly electrocuting the pegasus knight was not a pleasant one. "Not that I can think of," he replied, "but try to keep close to the ground when you can. I'd rather not have anyone get electrocuted today if I can avoid it."
A vein in the noble's forehead twitched at the sound of a shout, and he could tell already that this was going to be a long mission. "On second thought, change of plans. Please go up and knock some sense into that idiot's skull. He's going to get himself, and us, killed at this rate." He then started towards the cliff himself, a few minutes of searching its base yielding him a set of stairs cut right into the side of it, and he soon started up those, intending to go up to the top of the cliff and give the speaker a good piece of his mind. This was a group effort, and any one person going to put all of them in danger, then he was going to make sure to try to talk some good sense into them. He wasn’t going to lose good women simply because someone didn’t know how to work with a group. That was one thing he was certain of. | Words;; 314
