Ophelia wasn't surprised when Yos said that he was unsure of how long he'd been gone. She was hoping that he could narrow down the potential timeline, but it was to be expected that his years in captivity would be like one extremely long and blurry length of time. The golden haired Guard Captain began to adopt a pensive look, resting her chin on an armored fist while thinking over what Yos had said before. It was at that moment that Brunhilde spoke up. " If I may interrupt." Ophelia looked over to her former subordinate and nodded ascent for the soldier to continue. She made a fine point of the mentions of war indicating a good idea of when he'd been sent on the mission. Given the talks of war he mentioned, it'd have to have been around 5 or 6 years. Either before Grima's return when the tension was growing greater still between the Crown and the Church or after Grima's return when it would truly get the Grimleal's blood riled up and burning with the Fell Dragon's fire. It was said that all in Plegia bore the blood of the Fell Dragon, a terrifying aspect for those who would oppose him. "I see. That'd be around 5 or 6 years ago now most likely. Though I suppose it could have been a bit before that as well." She looked to Yos and then raised a finger towards the portraits that adorned the wall of her office. "Can you remember who ruled when you were sent on your mission?" It had to be Sin or the old King who ruled when Yos was dispatched. It definitely wasn't Maeve as her ascent was only in the last couple of months. And where was John with that roster? --- Tags: Yos Brunhilde

He wondered if his bird was still alive. They didn't live THAT long, maybe ten years at most, if left at good care. Was his rat alive? It had to be, rats should live long. His toe told him so. His toe never lied, as he head learned during his i-- Focus. He furrowed his brows for a moment before thinking. "I believe it was the father of Prince Sin." He nodded once. He had not paid much attention to royalty, even when he was under the service of the army, and even under the royal spying division. They were the big people upstairs giving him the orders he would follow, nothing more and nothing else. Maybe he should spend some of his time now to research on who was in power where, and who would be leading what division. He had to check in with a few other people. That reminded him. He turned his head to Brunhilde, lowering his scarf a bit as he thought for a moment before nudging her and talking quietly. "We need to talk after this. In private." He then turned his head back to Ophelia. Brunhilde Ophelia

Brunhilde silenced herself as Ophelia took in everything that was just said, and then surmised that it indeed must have been several years ago. Then the captain looked to Yos and raised a finger towards the portraits hung along the wall, asking Yos who exactly was ruling at the time he was sent on the mission. Right, it had to be one of the older Kings, after all, Lady Maeve had just ascended a couple of months ago. Brunhilde simply sat in place, keeping her mouth shut, only speaking when she felt it was necessary to or only when asked, once again reverting to hecold, obedient self. Eventually, as Brunhilde sat there listening to Yos'... incredibly short answer, the officer heard the spy saying he needed to speak with her after this in private. Brunhilde, without moving or opening her mouth, placed a hand on her own chin, lowered her head and feigned a nod, as if trying to say "Yes" without saying anything. Yos Ophelia

"Then it would indeed be about 5 years ago now." Ophelia took a deep breathe and sighed before starting to speak once more to Yos. "Suffice to say, there has been much change since you left. The old King of that time is dead and gone. He was assassinated by the Grimleal some 3 years ago now. King Sin was the next to reign and during his time, he had made enemies of many a nobleman and the Grimleal just as his father had done. And just a few months ago now, King Sin was assassinated as well. By the Grimleal or by angry nobles, no one can ever say. But it led me to an investigation that purged us of many spies from the Grimleal and otherwise. Our old Spymaster has passed on recently as well and at this time, I am the central figure at the chain of command until Queen Maeve appoints a new Spymaster of her choosing. Until that time comes, you will report to me."There was a knock upon the Guard Captain's door and after a call to enter, the guard from earlier that was named John entered the room. He briefly saluted his superior officer and handed her the roster as she requested before leaving after a dismissal from Ophelia. "Give me just a moment to read through this. I have a feeling already that you aren't lying to me, but I must be sure after the recent events I've mentioned."--- Tags: Yos Brunhilde

"... Alright then." He blinked as he listened trough everything the woman had said on repeat inside his head. So, people had died. That was the short version for those who were too lazy to think about it for too long. A few more than he would have thought in the start, though. He had his doubts about the old king still being alive, but to hear that king Sin himself would have been killed? How brutal. How annoyingly brutal too. The king would have been a good one, and someone who would have been far more reasonable than... Meh. He leaned back in his seat as he thought about everything. The world had clearly changed while he had been inside of his little box. Almost made him miss the box... If it was just a very large one and he had the freedom to leave at any time. He shivered for a long while before clearing his mind, his hand reaching for something to grasp as it then grasped to Brunhilde's shoulder, seemingly just for support as he kept shivering.
