BIO
• Sibylla was born the daughter of a lowly Ylissean blacksmithing family, the only child of a relatively happy marriage. Her home village was small and insignificant, only ever receiving royal attention during tax collection. A traveling caravan or two would stop through every year or so, but other than that, things were sleepy. Sibylla’s father was a talented arms smith, a man who had learned his trade in Ylisse and Regna Ferox, but ended up in a tiny village. Though his talents wasted away in a place where he only crafted horseshoes, he stayed for his wife and for his love of peace. He taught Sibylla what he knew, in hopes of having her take the business when he got too old.
• Weapons were Sibylla’s favorite playthings, though village boys were a close second. By the time she was a teenager, she could craft metal of the best quality. When she was bored, she swung her projects around, sure, but she was no master. There was no need to be in a then-peaceful village. She remembers getting bored at around age seventeen, riding further and further away from the familiar to stir up trouble. Life was uneventful. She needed change.
• She left the village on the family horse, setting out to join an army. Any army, really, but Ylisse was closest. Her father was disappointed, but Sibylla was restless and found her father a new apprentice herself. She joined the ranks a common soldier. Somehow she managed to avoid death until she had polished a natural affinity for steel into something that enemies feared. Her name grew with each battle, and though her career was not always pretty, she managed to make her way up the ladder. She was knighted, favored by some Ylissean lady from time to time, even competing in jousting tournaments. She was gifted and knew it, though in the end, she was still a small fry in the grand scheme of things.
• When things got tough and the squabbling between nobles began to become unbearable, Sibylla ducked out and hit the road. It was shameful and she knew it, but she had no taste for politics and she figured that she could return to her roots to earn a living. Crafting weapons became her source of income, and she cared little of who received them. Mercenaries, bandits, so long as her customers paid well, she had no scruples.
• The Knights recruited Sibylla first for her weapons, then for her war talents. She refused to help them fight at the start, but necessity set in and Sibylla sharpened her sword with the rest of them. When things fell apart, Sibylla stayed. Her fellow knights had grown on her (something she had not anticipated), and the cause seemed something worthy enough to stay for. She volunteered to take a position of leadership, citing her prior military experience. As First Lieutenant, she is harsh but fair, demanding a standard of excellence from all who work under her.
OTHER
• She rides a single warhorse, Balian, whom she values more than most of people. Those who tend to the stables know the finicky horse’s tastes well. If Sibylla suspects poor treatment of her beloved stallion, heads roll.
• She is very proud of her creations, be it armor, swords, or what have you. She takes commissions and guarantees only the finest quality for her works.
