Time. Time was fleeting. And that was why it was all the more important to learn how to better manage it. Yet between all the meetings of late, the oversight in the training her Royal Guards and the myriad investigations she had going, Ophelia was quite hard pressed to manage it all. And yet the Captain of The Guard found a way. It was her duty and her desire both to protect the Royal Family as best she could and in all things she needed to be the very best in making sure that a certain tragedy of the past was never repeated again. So all these investigations, meetings, and oversight was absolutely needed in her mind. Her specially trained 'shadow agents' were quite capable of digging up information, tracking down leads, and following up on what she outwardly could not.
The golden haired Dame was quite preoccupied today though.
Today she had to deal with the fact that Maeve assigned Inessa as an Ambassador to East Ferox. Though it wasn't her place to speak out against the Queen, Ophelia had to wonder about why Inessa was chosen. The girl was already absurdly shy and did little involving courtly politics. At the very least though, she left the other choice in Ophelia's hands and wanted a Royal Guard who was both devout to Plegia and outspoken to counterbalance Inessa's issues. It'd taken her sometime to really decide on who to choose, but eventually she settled on the rising Alto.
He was devoted, loud, and when age was taken into consideration, he was only a couple of years older than Inessa. While many would consider his youth an issue, it was better that the princess had someone closer to her own age as a traveling companion. Perhaps Inessa would even finally start to open up more.
Speaking of which though, that reminded Ophelia of Inessa's odd behavior of late. It'd need to be mentioned to Alto she figured. She'd been kind enough to the girl to not send one of her 'shadow agents' to track Inessa when she went out, but of late she began to wonder if that was a mistake. There was just something off about that girl. Or maybe it was her paranoia that had developed after Sin's demise.
Well regardless, Ophelia looked over her desk. It was all a clutter of reports and other such things. Some already read over, answered, and dealt with. Those she stacked up and placed to one side while starting to stack up another pile to inspect. The golden haired Captain of The Guard reached into a drawer of her desk, withdrawing a golden timepiece that had been gifted to her by Lord Maxwell all those years ago. It was almost noon now and that meant Alto should be arriving soon for his briefing.
