BIO
• Amelia was born in Eastern Ferox during the early years of the Khan's death. Her father fought with those vying for power at the time, leaving his wife and child in danger for a time. His wife, distraught at the possibility of her child dying due to the intense battles being waged, sought to dissuade her husband from joining the battle. But he would not be swayed, a lust for power burning inside him. Forced to live in such a threatening environment, Amelia's mother steeled herself to remain loyal to her husband, remaining close to him and her child, beginning to raise the child on her own. It was hardly worthwhile conditions to raise a child, but she managed.
• When Amelia was around age 4, she and her parents were tangled up in a terrible battle. When their rivals sought to obliterate their foes, the families and homes of their enemies came first. A brutal battle came down upon them, and her mother's first instinct was to protect her child, while her father revelled in the battle at hand, losing himself in the fight. The mother, seeing what her husband had become, made the decision to flee and to take Amelia with her but her escape was not to be. She was quickly routed, and crying for her husband, she was slain just a few moments before he arrived. Watching his wife collapse beside his child, he flew into battle, killing them all and saving his daughter.
• Deeply disturbed by what happened, he took Amelia and left, leaving for one of the villages far from his home. He vowed revenge upon those that killed his wife, and swore Amelia would have her revenge also. Amelia was traumatized by the battle, and found herself unable to speak for some time. Reaching a solitary village, the father told the locals what had happened, twisting the story to generate more sympathy from the locals. Given food and shelter, the father and daughter would become permanent residents of the village, and Amelia's father would begin working on how to achieve his goals before age caught up to him.
• Fortunately, she recovered from her childhood trauma, but remained a quiet girl, others believing she was still distraught over her mother. As time passed, her father began a regime of training for her, hoping to raise her into the warrior he once was. These trials were strenuous for her but she often found herself slacking, simply out of apathy. This angered her father, but he restrained himself from pushing her more. Instead he found a way around it. He sought to test her with bows, staves and even tomes, and he quickly found she had some latent talent with the latter. Though disappointed that his daughter was magically inclined rather than physically, as was the standard for Feroxi, he worked with it, his impression being Amelia creating swathes of fire, incinerating those who killed her mother.
• But she was not so accommodating to the idea. As she grew older, she became more defiant and insolent towards her father. She deliberately skipped out on his training regimes, spending time with her friends and utilizing her magic more as a method for entertainment than for combat. She began to despise the idea of fighting, and her homeland of Ferox for trying to instil the ideals of combat as a norm. It was not long before she and her father began to argue, the young mage standing her ground against the idea of murdering those who killed her mother, wishing not to become as barbaric as they. But her father refused to accept it. Over the years, he had become obsessed with his ideal for revenge, and would not simply allow his daughter, who had become a tool of destruction in his eyes, to wilfully throw away her own vengeance.
• Her father became more strict. Eventually, he became aggressive, shouting her down, even threatening her, but Amelia was steadfast enough and kept her resolve. She continued to rebel, even when her best friends were warning her not to defy her father so much. Then it came. Her father snapped one day when she returned home late. He became incredibly aggressive, reverting into the warrior state he once relished, smashing up his belongings and throwing things about at Amelia. On the spot, she made her decision, gathering up a few personal belongings and fleeing the village. Though she had no true plan, her simple hope was to get away from her father, to get away from all the fighting, to get away from Ferox.
• She began to travel on her own, visiting numerous small villages and hamlets on her journey and gaining the experiences her father had blocked from her. Suddenly, the world seemed much larger, and there was hope to be had for her, but at the same time, she learned of the tensions that wormed their way across the world. The fights that were happening elsewhere in the world. Some tried to convince her to battle, to put her magical skills to the test, but she refused every time. It wasn't until she reached a small town on the border that she decided to take up a temporary residence. She was far from her father, and older, but she was more ragged and temperamental. Her only remaining possessions were in poor condition, but she chose to keep them that way, and continued to wear the cloak her mother once wore, despite it's tattered edges, as a symbol of why she stood against her father.
• For now, she lives peacefully in the town, helping out where she can, but any attacks to her new home by bandits and marauders are met with apathy. She continued in her refusal to fight, no matter what may be at stake, and often avoids any fights coming her way. However, she also continued to study magic, aided by the locals whom hoped she might make a valued defender in their ranks. Her lifestyle began to veer more towards a quiet scholar, who appreciates her peace and becomes tetchy whenever that peace is threatened.
OTHER
She will rarely allow any to cook for her, or to take her laundry off her hands.
