BIO
• Born to a loving Plegian father and Valmese mother, Lunaeria never had the chance to experience a loving family nor explore her Plegian ancestry as her father was killed by bandits while she and her mother were sold into slavery shortly after Lunaeria was born. Her mother tried to raise Lunaeria to the best of her ability, but living conditions were unsanitary, food was scarce, and the slavers cruel. Before Lunaeria was even four, her mother succumbed to a combination of illness, torture, and exhaustion—leaving the young Lunaeria alone.
• Shortly after her mother died, Lunaeria was purchased by a local feudal lord. Having suffered her slave masters' cruel and harsh treatment alone for a year; Lunaeria desperately clung to the hope that she purchased by a kind and just lord, dreaming of falling in love and to be set free, marrying her benefactor and starting the happy family her mother and father originally planned to have with her. That hope turned into bitter resentment when she, and a number of other slave children, was purchased by a cruel feudal lord to be trained into his own group of private assassins. Compared to her new home, Lunaeria's old slave cage was a paradise. The training facility was hell on earth; the instructors were cruel sadists who enjoyed the children's suffering. As a process of "weeding," the children were forced into life or death situations such as hiding from an instructor who would kill them on sight or being forced to fight other children to the death. Those who performed exceptionally well would be given some meager scraps of food and water, bare enough to survive, while those that did not would be forced to do whatever they can to survive whether it was to hunt and eat any rats they could find or even pry supplies from cold dead hands of the ones that did well. However, while inhumane, the training was effective, preying on the human instinct and will to live. Before she was even ten, Lunaeria, and the other surviving children, were deadly aassassins.
• Ever since the second Valmese Empire collapsed after the death of Walhart, many of the smaller countries begun fighting amongst themselves, including internally, sometimes breaking into smaller groups, and would likely descended into anarchy. Lunaeria's home country was one of these, and while they avoided descending into complete anarchy, they still broke down into many smaller factions, each controlled by a single feudal lord. As civil war started, with each lord seeking to unite the broken country under their rule, it was a common sight to see orphaned children on the streets, barely struggling to survive. This was why Lunaeria and the other children were purchased and trained. They blended in well, most soldiers would underestimate them, and many would have ethical reserves about murdering children. Lunaeria, having shown a natural aptitude with combat tactics, ended up leading her own unit of child assassins and won her lord a score of victories. However, her lord was a poor strategist, and ended up overusing his assassins. Eventually, counter measures were made against them and Lunaeria, along with her unit, were captured.
• In the event they were captured, to prevent information leakage, the children were trained and conditioned to commit suicide. However, this went against the survival instinct that was used to train the children to begin with; they became such effective assassins due to it becoming necessary to survive. They were given the explanation, “Don’t get caught and you won’t die.” However, this advice did not set will with many. Lunaeria’s unit became split into two factions: those who were willing to die and those who wished to live. Initially, Lunaeria was of the former and as unit leader, Lunaeria felt duty bound to make sure her unit followed orders, including their suicide order. “Assisting” in their deaths, the child assassins each died one by one as they began fighting one another. In the end, Lunaeria was the last one standing. Whether it was just difference of ability or just sheer luck, she did not know; all Lunaeria knew was that she now had to end her life, but she found herself unable to do so. Before Lunaeria’s mother passed away, the last words she spoke to her daughter was, live for me.” It was these last words that Lunaeria held onto, that gave her strength. To take her own life, was to forsake these words, something Lunaeria could simply not do. As she then looked at the corpses around her, Lunaeria burst into tears as she was racked with guilt. She had forced her allies to die when she herself could not.
-
• If Lunaeria's training at the child assassin facility killed her heart, then her time with Sieghart and his sister Liliana revived it. They treated Lunaeria less like a servant and more like a dear friend. What was even more unprecedented was that they allowed Lunaeria to partake in their lessons, letting her gain an education with them. At first the instructors dismissed Lunaeria as just some common serving girl (knowledge about the facility was classified) and that Sieghart and Liliana were just taking pity on her. However, they were soon proven to be wrong as Lunaeria devoured the knowledge like a glutton, quickly learning various subjects: mathematics, history, language, etc. The combat instructors were especially amazed, finding her combat ability disturbingly overwhelming—no doubt due to her time at the training facility. Overtime, she grew especially close to Sieghart and Liliana, treasuring her friendship with the prince and princess over all else.
• On Sieghart's eighteenth birthday, he was officially proclaimed the crown prince, and when he began showing signs of a darker personality. It was on that night, Seighart requested Lunaeria to assassinate the emperor. At first Lunaeria thought Sieghart was joking, but he soon explained to her how his father was a cruel and paranoid man that would only bring ruin to the nation; how he took the lives of innocents because he felt threatened by them, innocents including the Sieghart's and Liliana's mother. Both utterly devoted and having fallen in love with the prince a couple years ago with the crown prince, Lunaeria accepted without question. As Lunaeria snuck into the emperor's chambers, she was, to her surprise, greeted by the emperor. The emperor had expected his son to send her to kill him, claiming that it was why he rescued her four years ago. Summoning his own assassin, the emperor was surprised to find his head thrown at his feet. Lunaeria had ambushed the assassin earlier and killed him. Accepting his defeat, the emperor, with his last words, warned Lunaeria, "Like his mother, he is a master manipulator; and like me, he cannot trust anyone. Eventually, he will see you as a threat and he will betr-" Before the emperor could finish, Lunaeria had slashed at his throat.
• With his father dead, Sieghart ascended to the throne. Shortly after Sieghart’s coronation, Liliana disappeared. After a year, she was proclaimed deceased, and shortly afterwards the blame fell on Sieghart’s uncle. Immediately, Sieghart used the people’s love for his sister to obtain support, claiming that he would bring his uncle to justice, starting a civil war. Lunaeria felt that everything was following together too well, but her blinding loyalty kept her devoted to Sieghart.
• During the war, Sieghart personally took command of his troops with Lunaeria as his tactician. The generals of his army felt the two to be too young and inexperienced, that before a month they would be leaning on the generals. They soon ate their own words, as the two achieved a string of vital victories, achieving the status of war heroes. Overtime, the men Lunaeria led would call her the Goddess of Victory. Ending the war with the capture of Sieghart’s uncle, the two visited the duke in his prison cell.
• The duke accused Sieghart of causing Liliana's disappearance, and using it to gain support. Before Lunaeria could silence the duke, she felt her body go numb. The emperor's final warning rang through her head and she realized that the duke was telling the truth and that Sieghart had just been using her like a tool. She could do nothing but watch as Sieghart executed his own uncle. With the last of her strength, she asked, "Why?" Sieghart simply told her, she was too dangerous and that she would be the perfect sacrifice to solidify his rule. The duke, in one final spite, would poison Lunaeria as Sieghart offered his uncle one last chance at redemption, and out of rage, Sieghart would slay his traitorous uncle but fail to save Lunaeria; or at least that is what the people would hear.
• Lunaeria woke up in a slaver’s den. Apparently the soldiers that Sieghart ordered to dispose of Lunaeria’s body gave her an antidote, having a deal with slavers and sold her. A slave once more, she was treated as an animal, used like a tool, and forced into servitude. Having been betrayed by the one she loved most, Lunaeria show no resistance, her will was broken. Soon she was purchased by a cruel lord who enjoyed torturing his slaves for mere entertainment. As she was dragged to her dungeon cell in the lord’s dungeon, she was suddenly reunited with Liliana.
• As the duke had stated before his unjust execution, Liliana's disappearance was indeed part of Sieghart's manipulation. Like Lunaeria, he had ordered her death, and, for better or for worse, like Lunaeria, she was sold into slavery by the soldiers instead. Liliana held hope that Lunaeria would help her, that the prodigal servant would rescue her. However, her hopes turned into despair when she saw the state Lunaeria was in. She realized that Lunaeria had been in love with Sieghart and his betrayal was too much for her. However as the guards came to take Liliana to be tortured, out of desperation and with a tearful face, said to Lunaeria, "Please... help me." Those three words stirred something in Lunaeria; she refused to lose her last treasure. As the guard came to take Liliana away, Lunaeria lunged at him. Quickly stealing the guard's sword, Lunaeria swiftly killed him and began freeing the other slaves, starting a revolt. The lord had purchased too many slaves, greatly outnumbering his guards. Within the hour, the lord was dead, killed by Lunaeria, and a rebellion was born.
• With both the lost princess and Goddess of Victory leading the rebellion, many opposing soldiers began questioning themselves. Supposedly, Liliana and Lunaeria were dead; yet here they were, leading a rebellion against Sieghart. The empire proclaimed that Liliana and Lunaeria were simply fakes but to little avail. As the war pressed on, any doubt was washed away by the familiar tactics that Lunaeria used to claim victory. Many defected, believing that the empire had lied to them. Not even a year had passed since the civil war began, but its end came as the prince, princess, and their servant met once more.
• When Lunaeria and Liliana confronted Sieghart, he was but a shadow of his former self. He had given up, accepting his defeat, and waited for death to come. He had discovered the slave dealing soldiers and personally executed them himself but knew it would not change a thing. As a last request, he asked how he failed. Liliana simply answered that he never learned to trust, that he was too much like their father. Sieghart simply laughed at this realization. His final words were, "I really did fall in love with you Lunaeria, but I feared you too much. I only wished things could have turned out differently." And before piercing her former love's heart, Lunaeria replied, "I wished for that as well." With a single thrust, Lunaeria had ended the reign of another emperor. As she looked at his face, wearing the same smile she fell in love with years ago, she could not help but fall onto her knees and cry.
• With Sieghart dead, Liliana took the throne as empress. On the night of her coronation, Liliana searched for Lunaeria, planning on adopting her into the royal family. The two had been through much together and Lunaeria was practically a sister to Liliana. However, Lunaeria could not be found.
• Earlier, Lunaeria was attacked by assassins. After slaying each one, she first thought that Liliana had betrayed her as well. She began preparing to assassinate Liliana before Liliana could assassinate her but stopped, realizing that she was making the same mistake that Sieghart made. She realized that there were likely many others who feared her aside from Sieghart, those who fought both against and with her in the two past wars. Knowing she could probably discover who sent the assassins if she searched their corpses, she reached out at one of the bodies but then stayed her hand. Lunaeria had simply decided to just trust Liliana. Nonetheless, Lunaeria knew she could not stay and immediately left. Purchasing a small dingy, Lunaeria set sail for lands unknown and eventually found herself on the shores of Ylisse. Selling the tomes she had brought with her for traveling funds, Lunaeria began a new life a wandering tactician—seeking only to perfect her trade.
OTHER
• At first glance, Lunaeria is a kind and outgoing young girl. However, the moment someone earns her ire, her personality takes a 180 and she reveals herself to be cruel and sadistic, carefully calculating their downfall.
• Due to past betrayals, Lunaeria has a difficult time trusting others. Conversely, should someone break through her shell and gain her trust, they will find her to have undying loyalty. However, should someone betray that loyalty, they will find that her wrath has no limits. Still, she does desire companionship. However, at the same time, she feels that developing attachments is detrimental to her abilities as a tactician. That it would prevent her from making the hard decision necessary to keep casualties at a minimum. She sees every life to be equal and believes in the logical approach of sacrificing a few to save the many. This leaves her a bit conflicted inside, as she believes she must forgo relationships and attachments in order to make the necessary decisions for victory but still longs for companionship.
• Due to malnutrition throughout a significant portion of her life, Lunaeria's bodily growth was somewhat stunted, leaving her with the body of a thirteen or fourteen year old when she is actually seventeen years of age. She stands at 145 cm, weighs 37 kg, and her three sizes are 70/52/72 cm. Also, due to having a history of people dismissing her due to her age and appearance, Lunaeria simply lets her actions speak for her when it comes to her skill or ability as a fighter and tactician.
• As for what continent she came from, I literally just made up a continent because I didn't know enough about the other continents and left it nameless because I couldn't come up with a name. Icly, Lunaeria simply refuses to speak about it, claiming that there were too many painful memories. Basically, treat it as some unimportant backwater/third-rate continent.
• While she has the Fell blood in her, she lacks any knowledge on Grima or Naga as neither were known in her home continent. Her maternal grandfather was from Plegia but left the continent of Ylisse and settled on Lunaeria's home continent. In other words, she is completely unaware that she has Fell blood. This is further compounded in that Lunaeria does not worship any sort of deity, feeling that people had to carve out their own fate rather than relying on some other worldly force.
