Well, he had said he wanted to know more about her, but he hadn't honestly thought she'd tell him. Maybe one or two things but she'd practically given him her whole life story. Did she trust him that much..? Or maybe it was less trust and more she felt obligated. Still, he could feel his face get a little red at the thought. Whatever the case, she was entrusting him with her past. It didn't sound like a very happy story, but it wasn't rife with tragedy either. It was more or less a story of a family trying to survive-- before her father left sending the family spiraling out of control. His brows furrowed, he couldn't fathom why someone would start a family and just never return. What could possibly have been more important than those who he loved? Another thought passed through his mind but he quickly dismissed it. He was quiet and listened intently to what she had to say, looking to her from time to time. By the end of her story he wasn't given enough time to respond before she immediately changed the subject and gave him an energetic smile, running off to the inn.
Eric watched as she parted with him, tail swishing about in the air behind her. He'd wanted to respond to her mother passing away, but the words just didn't come. What could he say that wouldn't sound trite? He didn't have anyone in his family who had been stolen from him and he had been given anything he could ever possibly want. Anything that came from his mouth would probably be dismissed anyway, he hadn't suffered nearly as much as Hibiki had. The lord turned his eyes toward the door that Hibiki had passed through but moments before. He walked up and went into the inn allowing his eyes to scan the premise. It seemed like a modest place to stay-- but there was no one around.
"Maybe I should have just stayed outside after all." He muttered to himself. Well, it wouldn't do any harm to look for her. Though it was an inn, it wasn't like it was that big. At most, there were probably twelve plus rooms located in the back. All Eric had to do was make his way toward the rooms and surmise which was hers. Besides, perhaps there was something he could do to help her.

SOMETIMES APPEARANCES FOOL, DON'T JUDGE BY THE LOOKS Now the girl had not long ago disappeared into the inn and to her room in the back, two doors to the left after entering the hall and made sure to walk into her room, however leaving the door cracked open. Looking around, her hand reached for her hair as she actually realized how much of a mess the room was thanks to her, she had never been the best at keeping things tidy when it wasn't her place, however when she had a home to call home things had definitely been different.
Slowly she'd step over to the small table where her travel bag was, nothing too big and sighed as she looked over, catching a glimpse of something she had dropped. Slowly she'd lean down and caught sight of the (under)garment she had discarded last night and picked it up quietly before looking around.
Luckily having only reached town the day before things weren't too messy so it would be easy to collect "Mom would be disappointed with you right now Hibiki..." she spoke mostly yo herself as she seemed to zone out to think about her mother. Her ears lowered a bit as she sighed a bit heavily. Man she missed having her family... But the laws of nature were clear. Everybody dies...
So distracted was she that she barely broke out of though when she heard footsteps in the hall and the sight of indigo hair. Had Eric just followed her? Quickly she straightened up, keeping a hand behind her with the garment that she'd rather not have anybody see... I mean she might not be a noble as he was but she knew it was unlady like to show such... things... to someone no matter who they were. She'd then look at the door nervously, her cheeks flushing up a bit. | NOTES notes |

I design not in word or talk but in deed and truth
The young man looked about the hallway, his eyes laying to rest on a pot of flowers on a stand with a painting of landscape hanging above it. It was a lovely piece that reminded him of the rolling hills of Ferox, the evergreens showing a slight hue of white as the frost of winter clung desperately to the pines. He stared at it for a moment before looking back at the rooms. Thankfully out of the lot there was one with the door partially open, even if it wasn't her room, it was a good place to start. He paused outside her room as he heard something faint. Though he'd just met her, he could tell it was Hibiki's voice. The young man's face looked slightly concerned as he put a hand on the door and pushed it open, walking into the doorway.
"I don't think so. Any mother would be proud of her child who took hold of their own life to live by their own means. At least, that's what I think." He didn't know her mother so all he could do was go off his intuition. He blinked noticing she seemed a little different with a hand behind her back her cheeks touched with a tinge of red. Hmm... was she feeling homesick? It was certainly one possibility-- and from what he'd heard a pretty likely one at that. Maybe she still hadn't gotten over the shock of her life changing so drastically. If that was the case he'd have to work all the harder at making her feel at home. She seemed like a nice if not timid person. He paused in his thoughts for a moment. No, he couldn't baby her no matter how much he felt compelled to. She was beyond cute, but he couldn't let his personal feelings complicate things. He was hiring her for a job. His face got a little red himself as he wondered why it was so hard for him to just think of it like that.
"Pardon my intrusion, I thought perhaps you could use a hand. Or maybe someone to talk to at the very least." He scanned the room, stepping further into it. It wasn't as clean as he'd thought it would have been with a few pieces of clothing strewn about the room. He bent over and picked them up thinking of handing them off to Hibiki-- wait... what was..? He pulled on something that was stuck inside the shirt pulling out some strange thing with two cups that were fairly large. Odd, he'd never seen one of these before. Perhaps it was something girls wore? But where would they wear it? It didn't go on their legs. He looked at Hibiki for reference before looking back at the thing. Ooohhhh, it went on her--. His face turned a dark red and he quickly dropped what he was holding.
"A-ah, you know, maybe I'll just--" He stuttered trying to think of something but nothing came to his scattered mind.

SOMETIMES APPEARANCES FOOL, DON'T JUDGE BY THE LOOKS The girl kept hold of the piece of cloth behind her and tried to avoid eye contact with him until he saw him pick up something else of hers. At first it seemed like a regular garment but soon enough he realized what it was, causing her to scramble a bit and grab it before placing it inside of her bag "I-Its nothing! You saw nothing!" she said with a stammer, really worried he'd just seen just how... bit the cups of that thing was. right now she was wearing warmer clothes so they were a bit loose to let her keep more heat around her so her curves were not easy to see.
That said she'd start to go around and ran into the bathroom "Just wait there, i need to wash my face and grab a few things from the bathroom and we can go!" she said as she quickly locked the door and pressed her back against it, her hand reaching for her face. Fuck, of all the things he could've grabbed he had grabbed that one thing.
That said se snatched up a few things of her, washed her face and then walked out, placing the last of her things in her bag and closed it, slinging it over her back "All I'm missing is the bill and then we can go" she said, trying to sound less embarassed but it was hard right now... specially after that.

Hibiki had a very similar response, her face turned a red to match his as she dove for the clothing article. Eric, trying to save what little face he had, if any, averted his gaze. What had he just done? It was like he purposefully did that or anything. Not that it mattered, he should have known something like that might happen. When it came to luck, it seemed he had the worst of it. He walked a little shaken over to the window looking for something, anything to take his mind off what he'd just seen. Oh, was there a bench out there? He hadn't noticed that before. Was that new? Damn, it wasn't working.
"Y-yeah, right, wash. Sounds good." He stuttered looking back over to look at the girl for a moment only to look out the window again hurriedly. Wow was he smooth or what? He let out a sigh as the door closed behind her. He looked at the hand that had touched the clothing. Now that he thought about it... there had a lot of space, hadn't there? He gave his head a shake. No! He couldn't think about it! What was wrong with him?! He tapped his forehead against the glass. Alright, he was calm, he wouldn't think about it anymore-- about just where it had probably touched. It was no use, wasn't it?
No, what he needed to do was think about what needed to be done once they got back to the estate. That's right, they'd need to find a vacant room for her to stay, perhaps give her a tour and give her some time to get situated. The young lord looked at the smallish bag she was using. Despite what mess there had been, she hadn't a whole lot with her. Well, she had been travelling-- but with all the things his mother hoarded he was surprised there was so little. His ears perked at he heard the door open again and turned to look at Hibiki who exited. He wanted to say something but she looked focused as she stuffed the last of her things into it and changed the subject. He felt a little relieved she had, truth be told. "That's alright, I'll pay for your stay. It's the least I can do for making a mess of things." He offered, walking to the door and holding it open for her. After what had happened being polite was the least he could do.

SOMETIMES APPEARANCES FOOL, DON'T JUDGE BY THE LOOKS The girl perked her ears a bit as he offered to pay for her stay. At least that got her mind off things as she sighed and nodded "I suppose saying no time and time again would make a different" she said as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She was still flushed but not as nervous as before with what had happened, her eyes glanced around as she cleared her throat and made her way out of the room as he held the door open for her.
At least what he had grabbed as something she had the intentions of washing at somepoint but the simple fact he had touched it- No she couldn't let herself think like that, bad. So bad. Very bad, quit thinking like that! This day had to be one of the most weird days she had even been through.
Taking a deep breath the girl walked over to the main counter and waited for the clerk to show up so she could ask for the bill and get all of this out of the way. That's when she looked over at him "How are we going to get to your estate?" she asked, rather casually. So casually it nearly seemed they were going to hook up or something. Catching up on how she spoke she'd blush and muttered "M-My lord" she was trying to be decent. DEAR GODS SAVE ME! | NOTES notes |

Eric gave Hibiki a small smile, feeling himself relax a little bit after the scene. Perhaps it was because he was getting used to her but he didn't feel quite so nervous anymore. After all, after what'd just happened, what else could possibly go wrong? The girl seemed to still be a little shaken up, but he certainly wasn't helping by being so awkward. It wasn't like he didn't have that tight knot in his stomach anymore, but for some reason he just felt slightly more confident. "That's right, I'd still insist and pay for it anyway." He joked with a small shrug. "Let it be a lesson on my stubbornness." As she exited the room he shut the door behind them and led the way down the hall to the front desk where a husky looking man stood. He was large and burly with a jolly look on his face. Exchanging small pleasantries, Eric finished paying for Hibiki's stay and bid the gentleman a good day.
He looked back to the girl and gestured her to follow with a nod of his head. "Well, I didn't walk all this way if that's what you're asking." He would lead her out of the inn and a little ways down the street toward a stable where Eric entered and retrieved his horse petting its mane and whispering to it before leading it back to Hibiki. "This is Aether." He introduced her to his steed, stroking the horse's brown neck. "He's not used to carrying more than one person, but I think he won't mind." He spoke for his horse as he expertly mounted, settling on the saddle and extended a hand to Hibiki. "Have you ridden a horse before?"

SOMETIMES APPEARANCES FOOL, DON'T JUDGE BY THE LOOKS When the legalities were taken care off they left the Inn and she would follow him quietly, partially a bit glad the awkwardness was wearing off. That said it didn't take long for them to get to the stables and she waited for him to return.
The girl looked at the horse and shook her head "A couple of times I have, when i wasn't doing my tracking on taguel bestial form" she admitted before shaking her head "Then again i wasn't the one taking the reins..." she admitted before sighing a bit.
Those were old times back at the village when she did these things. Today was a new page for her truth was told and she couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. Or where she was going next. At times however she was just glancing at Eric absent minded, as if she was wondering if she should ask something but part of her assured her that might just be a bad idea. | NOTES notes |

Though she admitted to not being adept at riding, she at least knew the basics or claimed it to be true. At least he could tell this wasn't the first time she'd seen as a few of the younger Tanguel from the mountainous tribes couldn't claim. That being the case, she hadn't come from one of those clans which meant she wasn't raised as a Tanguel. Perhaps that's why she'd come to the city first before seeking refuge from a tribe. It made a bit more sense thinking of it that way as he helped her up behind him onto their ride. He took one of her hands and placed it on his waist. "That being the case, you should hold on. It gets a little bumpy." He clicked his tongue and pressed the horse's side the deep sound of hooves thudding against the ground as they started moving.
While he wasn't used to mounted combat as some lords were seeing as jousting was a popular sport among nobility, he was at least skilled enough to use a horse to go from village to village, even full days at a time to reach his destination. While not a feat he enjoyed it was a necessity when touring the countryside. That was another thing that was brought to mind, she would need to learn how to ride on her own eventually. Perhaps he would teach her one of these days-- for now they would need to make fairly good time to get back before nightfall.
He turned his head, looking back to Hibiki to see how she was doing. He'd heard her call him lord, and honestly that made him feel a little embarrassed however it was what many people called him. Objecting to it with her would display a favoritism off the bat he couldn't afford-- not to mention it would be completely unprofessional on his behalf. He noticed something a bit off with the way she looked, like she was deep in thought rather than her normal enthusiastic self. "Is there something troubling you?"

SOMETIMES APPEARANCES FOOL, DON'T JUDGE BY THE LOOKS The girl would sigh a bit and closed her eyes before slowly getting up on the horse behind him, looking around. Still a bit nervous, the girl took a moment to relax before leaning up behind him, her body pressing against his back as she gulped a bit. She wasn't used to being close to guys like this. I mean, who could blame her for being a bit on the edge with the entire situation after all? From day to night she now had a decent job so it was going to take time getting adjusted to it all.
With that said the girl heard his question and sighed heavily "Nothing..." It was a simple answer, she said it softly, burying her head on his back and her eyes closed a bit. It was going to be a long trip, probably filled with awkward silences along the way.
Good... going.
