BIO
Eden is the eldest child of a family of nobility in Ylisse, a family which owned a reasonably-sized estate. However, what made this family of nobles more different than others was their willingness to get their hands dirty in affairs that required it. They were much more martial than the standard-fare noble who would rather have servants or a personal militia to do it for them. As such, Eden had big shoes to fill, her father being a Paladin of reasonable renown in the circle of nobles, and her mother being no slouch herself, formerly working as a Valkyrie, though now she spends her days as a stationary medic and earning her keep that way. Instilling values of justice and the idea that in order to incite and actuate positive change, one had to make that change with their own hands, Eden was soon taught the ways of the knight, following in her father's footsteps and becoming a fighter on horseback.
Because of her father's expertise, Eden was taught privately, as opposed to being enlisted in an academy or in a martial school. Eden's finesse in horseback riding was tuned by her mother, and eventually Eden became a top-class horse rider. To accompany her martial training, Eden was made to read a lot of books, mostly relating to military strategy, combat, as well as stories on the lore and mythology of the land, as well as fantastic stories of foreign lands. In fact, because of her age, she managed to live through many of the past events that happened through time. Unfortunately, throughout the years, her focus on such events has been marred mostly by the fact that at some point, the father thought it might be wise to have Eden get married off.
To be sure, Eden was a looker, but she was disinterested in romance; she had spurred many a suitor for her hand. And unfortunately that has only served to further dissuade her from engaging into relationships with anyone - even other women who have taken an interest in her, fearing that she may simply devolve into a trophy wife or girlfriend. Eden focused on fighting to stop the crisis that would occur - and sure enough, upon the death of the Exalt and her companions, she realized that there was a greater enemy. While not as devoutly religious as her fellow men and women, she still held a place in her heart for Naga, silently and with utmost respect. She could not allow the resurrection of the Fell Dragon to take place. She and her family (the father had passed away by this time, peacefully - the mother remained, a widow, though she was for the most part disinterested in affairs regarding power) grew to distance themselves from the growing power struggle, acknowledging that there were bigger matters at hand.
Eventually, Eden, older than most warriors and soldiers seen nowadays, was seen to be less capable than the younger guard. Fortunately she could easily prove them wrong, as her surprisingly well-kept body enabled her to keep up with the younger folks. Instead, she wished to contribute to the battle not only on the front-lines but also as an advisor. She was certainly no born tactician, but she knew enough about military strategy to contribute to such strategic discussions. Eden learned about a certain contingent of Knights she wished to assist, despite their current situation in the chaos. The mother had already grown reasonably old, and as such relinquished the decision making to Eden.
Eden, resolute in her plans, abandoned her family and went off to follow her heart, follow what she thought was right. She left the position of successor to her younger brother, Eden was his senior by about a decade. Eden sought off for this so-called 'Knights of Cydonia' contingent, both curious about their estate as well as eager to assist them in their fight, knowing that they have their hearts in the right place. Perhaps with some direction and some more manpower they could fight for what was truly right. Eden believed that much.
OTHER
Actually, it's important to discuss Eden's lineage a little bit. While Eden herself is Ylissean, her ancestry can actually be traced to Valm, where it was said that Eden's ancestors can be traced to having some distant relations with the queen of the first king of Valm (Celica). Of course, this is only a claim, and such claims have been debated over even within Eden's family, but if they were confirmed to be valid, that would actually make Eden a very distant relative of Celica. But again, this is actually highly just a fabrication. It could just be that the noble family of Eden originally came from Valm, but moved to Ylisse. The truth of the matter is, the most valid information regarding Eden's ancestry is that they were related to someone in the very Alm's forces, but again, this is very foggy, and naturally this stretches countless generations, so the story could have been corrupted somewhere in between.
Eden herself believes that she can keep up with the younger folk, but when she's alone or with someone she can trust, she displays signs of weakness - she believes that because she's old, there will be a time where her body can't cope with it anymore, despite rigorous training and her respectable pedigree. Meanwhile, she also has a rough view on relationships, she will shy away from them unless the suitor tries really hard and convinces her otherwise.
