BIO
• Lilou's mother was the sole heir to the Grand Duchy of Clarent. Her father was a foreign merchant that bought and sold goods from all around the world. They met, fell in love, got married, and created together what they consider one of the fairest and finest lands of Ylisse. They benefit from being far from the border, tucked away along the southwestern shoreline, where they claim scenic waters and fine harvests. Lilou is their first and only child.
• They could've easily spoiled her, but Lilou was raised on a budget. In fact, she had to make her own budget. Given a tiny allowance, her father made her pick and choose what to spend money on--fancy dresses or winter blankets, a fine sword or food, a new pony or a sturdy harness--and to suffer the consequences thereof. By the time she was ten, she was capable of managing the neighboring villages and certainly safeguarding her own valuables. Laziness was never an option, nor was carelessness.
• Lilou has an encyclopedic knowledge of the laws of the Halidom and even the customs of all the nations in Ylisse. Her knowledge of Valm and nations across the sea is also impressive but not as absurdly thorough. Minute details are her specialty. To become a proper duchess, her mother believed that her daughter must be well versed in the law. After all, how can you play judge, jury, and executioner if you do not know the rules of justice?
• Her only real hobby was riding. Lilou was a prodigious jouster, but it wasn't the lance she loved, it was her mount. Strictly practical, she wasted little money, but her stable was her guilty pleasure. She keeps warhoses, pegasi, wyverns, and even a pair of griffons. Despite their fine pedigree, she often lends them to the local farmers to help with their work. When she's home, she invites locals to learn how to ride. When she's out, her best students are gifted with free use of her steeds as they see fit.
• As a teenager, tournaments were her claim to fame. She won a great many, and those she lost, she lost in style. Lilou made a name for herself as one of the finest young knights in the realm. Many lordlings sought her out, some for her lance, others for her hand in marriage (folly at its finest), but she turned them all down--until Basil. Unlike the others, he was a man she could believe in. She thinks of him highly and considers him among her closest friends.
• She doesn't have the same opinion of Dorian as she does Basil. This makes things a little difficult for her, as she's been entrusted to watch over Dorian in his stead while Basil and him are not on the friendliest terms. Lilou has no siblings of her own, but she more or less understands the importance of her task. She performs it without complaint, but she'll admit she'd really rather be doing something else--pretty much anything else.
OTHER
Her mother is an unabashed tyrant, and her father is an enabler. The Duchy of Clarent is one of the safest places to be an innocent villager, but only if you follow the local laws. There are many, many laws, and their punitive measures are terribly harsh. The Duchess is benevolent, but she is not merciful. Most people living there have nothing to complain about, but every year, there's a few public hangings for what ought to only be minor infractions. That being said, the Duchess is also well known for being incorruptible.
Lilou is good at making hard decisions. She has no problem with sacrifice, even unnecessary sacrifice in the name of efficiency. When it comes to war, she believes the sooner it's over, the better. She's not cruel so much as she believes that problems should be nipped in the bud.
She actually has no clue how to swing an axe.
Give me the LesYay.
