BIO
• Born during the warmer months of Ferox (though really, was there a difference in temperature?), Cyrus was the oldest child of his mother and father in a small village. His mother was a simple housewife, but she had a spirit that Cyrus respected. She was kind and loving, but when Cyrus ever stepped out of line she could become the scariest person he'd ever met.
• His father, a member of the Feloxian army, encouraged Cyrus to pick up a practice sword when he could. Studying under the tutelage of his father, he learned the basics. When his father was away, other men within Ferox, who noticed Cyrus’ budding talent for the blade, also took him in as a temporary student to show what they had learned as well. Despite all the differing advice, the young trainee eventually developed it into a sword style that worked for him.
• While still young, he decided to challenge his father to a spar to see how well he had gotten, and whether as a student he could ever surpass his teacher. Being overconfident and reckless at that time, anyone who happened to witness that spar could see it was very one-sided for Cyrus.
• Unfortunately, there wasn't time for a rematch in the future years when Cyrus' father was released from his position in the army because of an injury in his sword arm. That meant more time to spend with family, but an eighteen year old Cyrus felt there was a hint of sadness coming from his father at the thought of leaving behind the friends he made in the army.
• Cyrus would continue practicing his swordplay, and eventually got himself recruited into the Feloxian army. Amongst its ranks he racked up more valuable battle experience as he trained with fellow soldiers.
• While in the army, Cyrus caught news from his home that he had two new little siblings -twins. As excited as he was to meet them, he had to wait to be let off from duty before he could make a visit home.
• For the last year, he's been wandering nearby the border of Plegia and Ferox, though never actually tried coming into the country. Sometimes he gets hired to get involved in small raids and the like. After some time, he likes to come back to see how his family is doing.
OTHER
• Despite his father being unable to practice swordplay, Cyrus dreams of someday earning genuine respect and acknowledgement in his skill with the sword.
• He secretly dotes over his younger brother and sister. His mother, able to pick up on his behavior, likes to tease him for that.
• Though loyal to his homeland Ferox, he respects those who display strength or a trait he finds admirable. He's not against selling his sword to a cause he deems worthy of his service. Just don't get mad if he flakes for the next best commander.
