• Payton was born in the harsh Feroxian winter as the oldest of two children. His father was a single father after his birth and his mother's disappearance, leaving him with no knowledge of who his mother even was. He remarried when Payton was two and his stepmother gave birth to his little sister, Kiara.
• Payton practised swordplay from the moment that he could lift up a practice sword, a habit encouraged by his father, who was one of the champions of the Western Khan.
• He and Kiara were also the type to explore around the city, and it was his responsibility to look after his little sister. Try to tell that to a ten year old boy. He and his sister were jumping across the rooftops one day, when both of them fell off of one of them. Payton came out alright, but Kiara cracked her head too hard, leaving her with severe difficulties, including frequent seizures and blackouts.
• Payton's time was spent between the training grounds and caring for his sister until the death of their father when Payton came of age. Payton took up the sword life and offered himself as a champion of the Western Khan in his father's place.
• In the offtime between championships, Payton travels the eastern continent in search of work. However, every four years, he wraps up all loose ends and heads back to Ferox.
