"Having some tea would do nicely in this cold weather, won't you agree, Argyros?"
The wyvern snorted, but otherwise nodded his head as if to agree with his rider. It seemed to be one of those days where the weather seemed to change in each passing month, but for the steel blue-haired man, it was just plain awful. Not only did the weather make him shiver, he could feel the cold winds blowing past him. The town, though, had a bunch of people trying to warm themselves in the awful weather and he felt a little sorry for them. Some of the children seemed to eye the wyvern that was walking beside his rider and they were immediately curious. The mothers of those children, however, seemed to view the wyvern as a dangerous sort of dragon and as such, they pulled their curious children away. Not that the wyvern had paid attention to their curious eyes, but he seemed to be intent on being at his rider's side for now.
After a while, the man stopped by a local cafe, but told the wyvern to stay outside in order to not attract attention. He was pretty sure that the manager would not really like having a dragon inside a cafe while people were drinking. Opening the door, he could see that plenty of people were taking shelter from the cold weather and he sat down, waiting for a waiter or waitress to come by his table and order.
"After I get my fair share of tea, I should visit the library and read up on a few things..."

Cold. Who in their right mind made the cold? Whoever it was needed to find the pointy end of a sword in their eye. A young Plegian man wandered the streets of some random Ylissian town, with his hood up and the ears of his hood wrapped around his neck like a scarf. The cold didn't agree with Gnosis, as growing up in a desert doesn't exactly make it easy for him to stand temperatures below melt your face off. After wandering through the town for some time, the pilgrim found his way to a small local cafe. "Finally, some shelter from this evil weather."As he moved towards the building, he waved to a wyvern that was parked outside, "You must hate it out here too," he spoke to the creature. "It's a shame you can't just walk through the front door, or else I would hold the door for you." Walking through the front door, Gnosis pulled off his hood, his messy black hair flopping down while it escaped its prison. The warmth rushed over him, allowing his body to shake off the cold. Without even looking where he was going, Gnosis pulled a chair out and sat down. ”I’m wasn’t prepared for this at all. This is nothing like back home,” his voice had a slight tinge of regret to it. The weight of his head forced it down to the table, completely unaware that he had actually been sharing a table with a steel blue haired man the entire time. Simon

"I couldn't agree more. I'm not quite used to the cold weather myself..."
He didn't realize that a black-haired young man had taken a seat in his table and from the looks of it, it appeared as if the young man himself was shivering from the cold. And...this particular young man looked like he was from a foreign land. Quite possibly, the young man had an appearance of a pilgrim and it was common around this parts since there were a number of people claiming to have been pilgrims for their respective deities. Still, this young man might be an interesting person to talk to. A waitress came by their table and asked what kind of drink he would order. He told her that he'll order berry tea and the waitress nodded before telling him that she'll be back with his order. It was a shame that he didn't bring a book to read for himself, but the library might come later as expected. Right now would be a good time to relax and have a good drink during the cold weather. Clearing his throat, he began to speak to the other young man.
"Ah, young man, I haven't seen the likes of you before. You seem to be a foreigner from the looks of that attire."

There were conversations going on, but one voice was quite closer than any of the other conversations. Looking up, Gnosis saw that he was sitting across from a man who looked to be about his age. His head must have been out of it if he hadn’t even noticed that he was sharing a table. He shook his head quickly, trying to put his brain back into the proper location. ”Well, I guess that makes sense that you haven’t seen the likes of me before. There is only one of me, and I don’t remember seeing you before either.”The waitress soon returned with two cups of tea, apparently assuming that his order matched the other man’s. Gnosis took a sip of the tea, not entirely sure what flavor it was, but he enjoyed it none the less. ”And you are correct, I am a foreigner. In fact, I’m a pilgrim from Pleagia.” Although Gnosis did say where he was from, he didn’t actually say which god he was a pilgrim for. It was always entertaining to see who people assumed he worshiped. It didn’t really matter if they were right or wrong, he just wanted to see how people’s minds worked when they looked at him. Looking over the stranger, it the man was most likely not a foreigner, but that didn’t mean he was close to home. ”Are you traveling as well?” From his clothes, he was probably going somewhere specific. "Quite frankly, I live here and do travel when needed. And Plegia sounds like an interesting country and from what I heard from the rumors, it seemed as if there was a civil war going on." According to some of the rumors that he heard, a civil war had broken out and it was particularly nasty. Though, he wasn't going to fly over there to see it for himself apparently. Plegia was a bit dangerous for someone to fly over to the theocracy unprepared, but he did have the necessary tools for him to prepare for this kind of dangerous flight. The axe, while a good weapon for doing close-range attacks, had no real advantage against users who wielded a lance in which he should be careful about.
Besides, conflicts were probably handled by a higher authority and since some of the nobles were fighting for the throne, he didn't particularly care for the Ylissean throne anyway. He wondered if the other young man had found out about all that fighting back in Plegia as the news would've traveled far to where the black-haired man had traveled to.

His interests were piqued when he heard the man speak about Plegia. Gnosis wasn’t one to keep up with current events, as he usually found himself too busy with theological research. Even if he hadn’t heard of the fighting starting, he wasn’t all that surprised. Tensions were running high back home, with people of differing ideas constantly coming and going from power, and most people he knew didn’t exactly have their head on right. Including himself. ”I’m not sure if that rumor is true or not,” they young Plegian man explained, keeping his eyes down on the table between them. ”I haven’t been home in some time, so I haven’t had the chance to see it for myself.” A feeling of pain slowly burned in his chest, while a desire to return home entered his mind. This feeling of home sickness was something new to him. Never before had he thought about anything besides moving forward, seeing what he could be discovered. Almost immediately after he identified what the emotion was, Gnosis tried to block it out. His shot his eyes up to meet with the Ylissian’s, a fake smile covering his true feelings. ”Besides what good could a pilgrim like me do on a battle field if a civil war was going on? My skill with a tome is probably mediocre at best, and I doubt I could learn anything of true use.” Even though he felt that he had dodged the question of going home that no one had asked, something still nagged at him. It felt like he was missing something important in this whole scenario, but he hadn’t the slightest idea what it could be. Simon

"Ah, I hardly believe that. Perhaps with enough practice, your skill with a tome might help immensely with foes that are armored or opponents that you simply cannot reach." He could read through the young man's expression like a book, but dared not to say it. Though a fake smile was usually a telltale sign that the Plegian man had a lot of hardship going on in his entire life. That meant that the Plegians were probably having a hard time with trying to drive back the Grimleal, but it seemed as though the young Plegian man had no part in the conflict itself. It was rather disheartening to see that the entire country of Ylisse had gone into chaos as well with the nobles fighting over who gets the throne. In short, he didn't want anything to do with the conflict itself, but he wished that he could try to prevent it from happening.
"By the way, it's a bit silly without giving you my name. I am Simon." It took a moment for him to realize that he hadn't introduced himself properly. Such a silly thing to do while having a conversation with someone, but he'd probably let it slide...for now.

Gnosis could feel the Ylissian man was probably trying to cheer him up, although it wasn’t really helping too much. He knew that somewhere, the very thing that he was trying to learn about, the thing he had surrounded his life around, was causing people to die. Or at least caused them to die on a battlefield instead of as a proper sacrifice to Grima. ”Well, that is true. I suppose I could put some stock in studying potential combat strategies.” His mind started to go deep into thought. There had been stories of great mages in battle, but he didn’t really think that he could be one. Before he could get too lost in thought, the stranger had introduced himself. A more genuine smile emerged as the topic changed to something lighter. ”Oh, how rude of me. I can’t believe we let this conversation go on this long without properly exchanging names. I’m Gnosis, a pilgrim.” Had he already mentioned that me was a pilgim? Well, what was done was done, there was no point in taking it back. Trying to keep the one light, the Plegian kept the conversation rolling. ”So… did you see that wyvern outside? I wonder what kind of fool would just leave it outside, for anyone to do whatever they want with.” Of course, who in their right mind would even mess with a wyvern? Simon

"Nice to meet you, Gnosis. My, a pilgrim is certainly an interesting person to meet in someone else's lifetime." Gnosis did fit the image of one in which he probably traveled to different places at one time. Simon himself hadn't considered being a pilgrim yet, but perhaps he would do something to stop the conflict before going to other interests. He could practically feel how the late Hero King would feel if he had saw that Ylisse was in chaos. In spite of things, he preferred to be neutral on the side and also never took part in conflicts unless he felt like it was right to do so. And then, the conversation shifted to Gnosis mentioning a wyvern outside and he immediately looked towards where his wyvern was parked at.
"Actually, that wyvern is mine. I parked him outside, so that the people inside the cafe wouldn't have to be scared of a wyvern. I regret that I should've gotten him something warm to be in. He must be shivering." It was entirely okay for the wyvern to be standing outside, but it was probably shivering from the cold.

Being a pilgrim had been mildly entertaining, allowing him to meet a variety of different people, although this was the first time that he had met a wyvern rider. ”Well, isn’t that a strange case of fate at work. I never thought I would have met that wonderful creature’s rider.” The idea of riding a wyvern had always intrigued Gnosis, but more often than not, he was perfectly content with keeping his feet on the ground. ”Although I have often wondered how different things would be if I had a wyvern like you. Would I have learned more because I could get to places faster, or would I have learned less due to missing out on random encounters along my journey?” His mind wandered with all the different possibilities. It suddenly occurred to Gnosis that he had been prattling on about himself, and he had hardly learned anything about Simon. ”Of course, I’m sure your life is just as interesting. What is it that you do?” The Ylissian was dressed fairly well, or at least Gnosis thought, so it was probably unlikely that he was someone to get his own hands dirty. Then again, maybe he was trying to impress someone that Gnosis had stolen the seat of, but if that was the case, he probably would have already asked the Plegian to leave. Simon

"Well, I am a nobleman. Quite strange for a noble to be riding a wyvern, but I do like my wyvern to bits." People might find it strange for nobility to be riding a wyvern where there were most likely other people who have mounts like his. He didn't care though as he found wyvern riding to be his passion for some time. Riding a wyvern had its advantages like flight to where he wanted to go and faster travel. "Wyvern riding is quite a thrill once you have your own wyvern. Getting to soar the skies and travel to different places in the air is exhilarating." Traveling on foot must've gotten the Plegian man's shoes all dirty, but sometimes this was the best thing to do if Gnosis didn't have a mount of his own.
However, there was still the threat of arrows being flown at his direction or wind magic, but he could probably dodge it. Good thing that he never went into the Plegian land, but he felt that Ferox might be a bit kinder.

”You do make it sound truly wonderful, almost to the point of making me jealous. The wyvern part, not the noble part. I doubt I would have been able to just wander around like I do if I had to worry about nobility.” A noble and a wyvern rider. There couldn’t be too many that boasted a combination like that. He knew that there were probably just as many difficulties with the life that the Ylissian had as him, but it didn’t seem to show on his face any. ”It sounds like we’ve both met interesting people today.”The young man stared out the window, while his hands were bridged over the cup of tea, letting what warmth was left in the cup roll up between his fingers. Just looking at the weather outside made him shiver, and he knew that the weather was probably going to get colder before getting warmer. Perhaps he had been too quick about trying to stay away from whatever turmoil may be going on in Plegia. Keeping his eyes locked to the window, he spoke up. ”I think I should go back home,” Gnosis turned back to look at Simon, ”to Plegia, to continue my journey, I mean. Hopefully I can avoid any personal conflicts while I’m there, but I know that I will have some opponents. After all, Plegia isn’t exactly the shining beacon of ditheism yet.” He knew that it was probably a massive change in tone as far as their conversation had been going, it was just something that had been weighing on him for a little while now. "Ah, going back home so soon? Alright, take care. I advise that you have to be careful on your way as there might be scoundrels around. You'll never know what kind of perils you'll might face, Gnosis." Sipping his tea afterwards, it was quite obvious that Gnosis had a journey to go to and the pilgrim might have a perilous journey ahead. He had noticed that the conversation had been going on for long and it was the most interesting conversation he had. Perhaps when they meet next time, Gnosis might tell a story about his adventures. Possibly, he might have the courage to visit Plegia one day if there was no hostiles roaming about.
Alas, it was probably time for Gnosis to go back on his journey to the Plegian land and Argyros was waiting for him outside. The Ylissean homeland had a lot to do before an age of peace could be ushered, but the nobles had a problem of just killing off their opposition.
