BIO
• She was born to a well-off family in Chon'sin. Her parents were both accomplished Swordmasters, and wished for her to follow in their footsteps.
• Except she was neither skilled nor interested in the way of the sword, no matter how much training her parents put her through. She much preferred to stay indoors and read whatever texts she could get her hands on. Magic especially interested her; swords were made to cut and kill, but fire brought light and warmth. Wind cooled, and lightning cleared the air. Knowledge and magic felt infinitely more useful to her than blades ever did.
• Her training persisted, however. "You may like magic, but the sword is in your blood," her parents said to her. They did allow her to practice in her spare time, though. She wasn't all too good at it, but she had heart.
• One day, when Ten'mi was seventeen, they asked her to try riding a horse, and see if maybe being a Cavalier instead might endear her more to sword-fighting. The horse ended up throwing her off. She hit her head. And when she woke up, the world was grey. The pity in her parents' eyes and the shame she felt was far worse than any of the expectations they put on her.
• Ten'mi kept the incident a secret to anyone outside her family. Her parents stopped pressuring her to become a swordswoman. She hated the change, but it still took her a year to ask her parents if she could work on sorcery instead. The Mannaz School of Magical Arts struck her as the best place to polish what she'd already learned. Her parents obliged, and accompanied her to Plegia for her interview.
• She didn't pass, but seeing the classes there motivated her to work harder and improve on her mistakes for next time. She got in on her second try, left her home in Chon'sin, and has been studying elder magic in Mannaz ever since.
OTHER
• Has cerebral achromatopsia after her accident, alongside other visual difficulties. In particular, the upper right part of her vision's shot. She's deeply ashamed of her colorblindness and does her best to hide it.
• Wears glasses occasionally, not that they actually help or anything. They're just there for her to use as an excuse in case she trips up somewhere.
• Yeah, she's not too fond of horses, or mounts in general.
• No, she's not too concerned she can't go back to Chon'sin. Plegia suits her just fine.
